Does anyone happen to have the 'ol Opera 9.5 skin? It was actually a very decent skin. p

I don't remember if there was any major changes in 9.5... but there's this one (for 10.5), which is like the 7.5 - 9.5 skin or whatever (the one before the glossy 9.6 skin)... naturally it's not "exact".

Edit: If you mean the glossy one... there's a couple here but I don't think any of them have been updated for 10.x

If you want the actual skins themselves: 9.27 and 9.64, I don't have 9.5 installed.

Thanks, Vectronic. smile

Maybe I'll go on a hunch and try to create a 9.5/9.6 skin myself. p

I love Nontroppo's Breeze (Simplified Native Micro) skin, I've been using it for many years. Until now, because they don't work correctly with v10.5.

Therefore I'd like to make a request for a 10.5-compatible Native Breeze-skin.
I tried looking into it myself, but I have no idea how the skins work.

I loved the breeze skins as well for 9.x and 10.1x. I prefer a minimalist interface wherein all options are available but very, very, unobtrusive. The new skin, 'breeze microflat v.1.0' is an good replacement for 10.53 and up.

Using Midnight Bull skin.
Sidebar + Personal bar
The 2nd wand icon is Bugmenot bookmarklet.
The 2nd Opera Link icon is "Sync Now"
The calc-like icon is Dragonfly.
The skull icon is "Kill Element" button.
The caret-like button is view "with IE engine" using Neptune plug-in.

The page thumbnail and panel are not normally opened, though. smile
They are just opened when I need them.

I have always wondered how you guys were able to replace the Speed Dial page with icons and add bookmarks to Start Bar

Currently my Opera look, Panel on left side set to toggle and for the sake of the screenie it's showing. Multiple custom buttons both top and bottom.

(image is resized to 1024X768 since I am using dual 24in displays so pretty big crop from native res.)
tweakedopera.jpg

Forgot I have 88 SpeedDial entries and I wished to change to a totally transparent look to include SpeedDial.

..\Profile\thumbnails\*

Either create an image you want, and then save it replacing the existing one, or open an existing one and edit/delete/etc as desired, then save it.

Just remember not to reload/update the thumbnails or it will overwrite it with the normal pageview version (you can set it to "read only" to protect it though)

add bookmarks to Start Bar

You can drag&drop a tab to the Start Bar (or any other toolbar) before you "drop" it, press Shift.

If you already have a bookmark somewhere else, then you can drag&drop it the same way, by pressing Shift, or you can open the Appearance dialog, then you can drag&drop without pressing Shift.

You quoted me and selected the statement made by OperaTheGreat by mistake Vectronic, just saying. On the subject though I did see I think Tamil's info on the creation of transparent SpeedDial thumbnails and recall that when the beta moves to final the SpeedDial thumbnails will be slightly different. More info on that for anyone that is not already aware: http://my.opera.com/Tamil/blog/how-to-change-speed-dial-thumbnail-images-in-opera

Thanks for the reply Vectronic! But how come the icons are stretched when I change the thumbnails?

@ OperaTheGreat If your icons are stretched you most likely have the wrong dimensions for your thumbnails or the number of SpeedDial thumbnails is affecting the look (too many, too few) , happened to me during times of modification to the number of entries, adding or removing restored properly sized thumbnails. (Mine is no longer customized in that area though.)

Here is mine very minimalist
Starting with the Status bar (very narrow) & combining it with the address bar.
after adding the address bar i had to remove some dynamic invisible buttons from the status bar ( just click empty space on Status bar next to Address bar/customize/remove.
I find the clock button far right invaluable in Full Screen mode (activate Status bar by pressing in sequence Alt e t s )
my Opera.JPG

the skin is Z1-Glass v2.60

edited to show with the Panels open i use the toggle , why does Opera have the panel toggle turned off by default ?my Opera with panels.JPG

here is the skin http://my.opera.com/community/customize/skins/info/?id=8902
and here are good backgrounds http://my.opera.com/community/opera/speeddials/
and to remove search engine from speed dial Go to:
Tools > Preferences > Search
Select search engine which is used in your speed dial (bing.com, if default)
Edit > Details > uncheck “Use as Speed Dial search engine”
and you can change your Speed Dial thumbnail images by editing them, Go to C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Opera\Opera\thumbnails

This is my latest setup. Notice the bar at the bottom of Opera with Alexa stats and Google Pagerank. I also have some buttons down there. The skin is Opera Ambiance by Kyle Baker. It actually make my Opera look good on Ubuntu to.

I got the idea of this skin when reading this post but I think it still need a lot to improve such as making sure I don't loose out too much features. Any suggestions is welcome.
