Proxomitron: highly flexible, small but very powerful, local HTTP web-filtering proxy
Proxomitron is one of the essential tool, everyone should use. It is better than Privoxy and Ad MuncherI request you to post filters, questions, etc., in this thread.
Ate horrible iframe ad at gamespot.com image viewer.
Synchronized with Grypen's two recent updates. (Youtube downloader filter!)
Till next time.

I found this on http://nontroppo.org/wiki/OperaPerformance :
"Problem: Slow browsing when using a Proxy (e.g. TheProxomitron) - sometimes 'hanging' the UI when lots of tabs are loading together.
Cause: Opera disables HTTP 1.1 by default for proxies (as not all proxies are compatible), thus slowing network performance down.
Solution: Go to Preferences » Network » Proxy Servers and turn "Enable HTTP 1.1 for proxies" on. If you use TheProxomitron, also turn off "Local connections persist..." as this (bug) actually turns off outbound HTTP/1.1 from the Proxomitron to the outside web!"
And I noticed that it was turned on in your proxo settings (config/http).. Not sure if it applies or does anything but I thought I better let you know.
Best regards,

It works fine on forums where i wasn't able to remove specific ads frame.
It changes google result form too. Now I have thumbnails near each results and it's annoying.
Is there a way to import the settings into proximodo ? I wanna changes some behaviour ( like thumbnails ) and proximodo seems to be easier to set than proxo and it can launch the browser just after it loads and i didn't find if proxomitron does that.

If you hate the updater, the self extracting RAR is available directly:
http://www.mediamax.com/jp10558/Hosted/public/Update/Proxy.exe
Just place in in your proxomitron directory, and run it. It will overwrite the old files with the new ones.
Of course, feedback on the updater is also appreciated.

I'd honestly prefer for Opera things like the AdBlock (Plus) and FlashBlock extensions for FF.

Feel free to PM or post here with any ads you see that you want blocked in this set. I can't guarantee I'll be able to fix it, but I'll try and bring them together into the next release. So far, I can only clean up what I see, which is probably a very small subset of the net.

There have been several demands to fix this but it didn't happened till now.
However the max total connections should be set according to your connection speed and the CPU of your computer.(mine is set to 20)

I use the defaults without any problem.
You can use the defaults as well. However in this case the max total connections = max connections to a server = 8. The only negative side effect in this case is that some pages might load slower.

Some may find it helpful to know you can right click on the system tray icon and select bypass to turn off the filtering for a while.
Also, under edit lists, you could add to the bypass list that would automatically bypass filtering on sites you enter there.

Usually this is the sign of an incorrect ruleset configuration.
Since I use a German release of ruleset with a slightly modified script engine of Proxomitron, I can't give you helpfully advises for the release you have been tested.

Far more flexible and powerful. However at the same time more complicated to understand as Ad-Muncher and therefore less popular.

Those numbers may differ depending on how fast your connection and your computer are.
You will have to find out by testing. 16/16 is what I'm using since it gives the best results for me. My computer isn't the fastest neither is my DSL connection.
Keep in mind that using a local proxy 'Max total connections' can't be higher than 'Max connections to a server' no matter how you set it up since Proxomitron is treated as a server.
Also make sure that 'Enable HTTP 1.1 for proxies' is enabled in Opera.
