It did with the 11.60 release.

OK, I saw the Bug Report Wizard, but for the most part I'm not really talking about bugs - just suggestions for minor improvements that would give Opera better functionality. Is there anywhere to submit feedback like that?

Hi everybody.

My suggestion, a full screenshot tool for a entire website( with flash or not ), like Fireshot of Firefox.
Could be a nice extension for our Opera.

See ya guys.

While currently it's impossible for extensions to add items to context menu, you may use custom menu for this.

Yes, "Scan Linked Content" item sends only link URL to novirusthanks.org, without downloading the file to your PC. This also means that if a file is on closed resource (for example, on a forum which allows file download only to registered users), then novirusthanks.org will not be able to download it.

And no, it's impossible to make an extension to "scan files automatically before download", for two reasons: a) as far as I know extension API doesn't allow to "intercept" file downloading, and b) I believe that before any antivirus could scan it, it should be downloaded to PC with this antivirus

p.s. And I think that it's better to discuss individual extensions/menus on their webpages. wink

I'd suggest a feature where you can manually split your browser window into smaller parts to show different sites at the same time. That really is the only thing I miss since I quit firefox years ago.
Halfs and quarters would be a nice start, but custom sizes would be best.
I'm sure people with high resolution screens would approve very much.

It would be wonderful to have a "save dialog" extension with a "auto-rename and save" option when file names clash.

For example if I want to save 'nice.gif' and there is already a file called 'nice.gif' in the folder, currently Opera save dialog gives you an option to proceed and overwrite existing file or cancel the save (and perhaps manually rename the file). It would be great if there is a rename-and-save third option that automatically renames the new file and saves it.

It's a bit like when you copy a files in windows. If a file nice.gif already exists, you can just choose 'rename and save both' and the new file is saved as nice-1.gif.

Hey,

it would be awesome if it's possible to switch the sound output of opera.

Because opera uses the system standard and when i start to play games they do that too, so i want to use my headset as default and my speakers for opera..

even better would be if this is possible for every single tab wink

greets and have a good day

Request for more advance api support for Extensions. For example access to Preferences. I need to change proxy server many times and it is painfull process to change proxy. Having an extension just like Proxy Switchy for google chrome (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/caehdcpeofiiigpdhbabniblemipncjj) will be a relieve.

According to mubaidr, need more API functions for Extensions. My WishList so far is limited by two points:
1) Access to Downloads tab (GetFileList, GetIncompleteList,GetFileSHA1 and so on). I consider that access to transfers means some security leaks (access to real, not virtual as in Unity, filesystem), but believe that Opera's guys will provide secure methods.
2) Access to Preferences.

Thanks in advance!

I'd like an extension that when your hovering over pictures that they pop-up a larger image. One that will work with facebook. They have this extension for Chrome and Firefox that work really good. I've used Imgtip and Image Previewer for Opera but they just don't make the image large enough like the others do in the other browsers I've stated plus they don't work for all Images.

Please let me know if there is something like I'm talking about or if someone could develop or help me develop this

Thanks

If opening in a pop-up is not mandatory, double-click the word, then select "Dictionary" from the Opera's drop-down menu.

Hi,

It's my 1st time to post here. Have been doing comparison of Opera and Chrome lately and decided I'd use Opera for important web browsing and use Chrome for other web browsing and online games. smile
One handy extension of Chrome that I can't find for Opera is the Scrapbook (which is also present in Firefox). Although Opera can save file in MHT format or webpage with images, Scrapbook (also PageArchiver) usefulness is that it function like a temporary notepad where you don't have to dig up your folders for that particular webpage much like the Tab Vault extension but will still function if your offline. Thanks.

I would like a simple extension that highlight certain text ----- you can change a keyword, then opera will search in the current page (NOT just goolge page) and hightlight it. After this, ANY page opened will also have that keyword highlighted. If you don't change to another keyword or change to an empty one, the highlight of this keyword will go on, even if opera restarts.
Thanks.

Hello, everybody!

Can someone make a clone of this Firefox addon - https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/grab-and-drag/ ?

There are two extension for Opera that can do similar stuff but Not Exactly. What I need is an option to reverse scrolling direction and a possibility to select a text just by double-clicking on it, not turning off the extension.

Well, in other words, I just need a Clone of this "Grab and Drag" Firefox addon.

You can contact me via tiranid@myopera.com and I'll beta-test this extension when there's anything to beta-test.

Please provide an extension for PasswordMaker [0]. The existing Opera Widget will no longer be functional soon after Opera 12 hits the market. [1][2] Currently extensions exist for Firefox and Chromium [3], and perhaps one of these can easily be ported to Opera [4][5].

When and if Opera implements <http://dev.w3.org/2006/webapi/WebNotifications/publish/>, you'd just leave the mail.opera.com tab open (but no need to focus and such) and you'd get notifications.

mail.opera.com *could* provider an rss feed for you inbox so you could just subscribe to that to get notifications.

As for doing this with an extension, that'd be cool, but I think mail.opera.com should provide an actual API for checking it (as opposed to some extension having to scrape the page etc.).

None of that is needed if you use Opera's built-in mail client to connect to it though as Penge4 said.

The built in email client is terrible.

I really hate posting in the Opera forums because posters come right behind you and rather than answer a question they tell you what they think you should be doing. Its a really pompous crowd.

I feel your pain. I suggested at the top of this thread that it sure would be nice if the email client could get some attention then spadija comes right along behind me with the big news that "It did with the 11.60 release."

Here's how much attention they give it: when they send out surveys for feedback there is not even one question dealing with the email client.

I switched to Opera for the email client and got a new browser instead....

One of my friend wanted to leave Opera due to tab closing behavior. He didn't know about "Activate the next tab" option.
Many of my acquaintance wanted to leave Opera (before extensions) the lack of autofill. They didn't know about UserJS.
