One draft per mail in Quick Reply - save it between sessions!!

I got extremely excited when I read in changelog of last version that now there is one draft per email saved in Quick Reply field. However after checking it, I discovered that the drafts are lost after closing and reopening Opera. sad

I got a request - please make it so that M2 remebers it between sessions - it would be extremely handy! I receive many mails and often leave some "to deal with them later". If there was possibility to save such "context drafts" in Quick Reply field permanently, one could note down what to do with the email or some initial thoughts what to reply! (so far the new feature is pretty useless when all Quick Reply drafts are lost after closing Opera.. sad )

I hope it will be added.. love It seems simple to implement - just make some file and place there MessageID + Quick Reply text. I believe it will be a quick fix, while very handy. chef party

3. REVOLUTIONARY feature: flag sent mail as "Expected reply after X days" - no need to remember from whom you expected replies! Would save a WHOLE LOT of time!

Come on! Wouldn't it be useful! Dropping a quick note to each mail right in "Quick Reply" field, then you can comfortably close Opera and still see the note after restart! yes Awesome, isn't it? partylove

Please implement this with Quick reply field. It is a natural improvement to "one draft per mail" attitude introduced in Opera 7.60P2 version. up

In short - let M2 remember content in "Quick Reply" field between sessions (after closing and reopening Opera)!

I guess it would be useful; now I just leave messages I have to deal with marked as Unread.

Then it wouldnt be a "quick reply" field, but a "notes" field.
:idea:Why not just create a new field for notes. And to save space it can be activated only for mail that needs it with the click of a button.

No, it's a normal draft, the only difference is that it is saved when you reopen Opera.
You are typing in Quick Reply fields of several mails and.. whoops! you have to go and shut down your computer! It would be just great to not lose what you typed in those Quick Reply fields.

This way it can be used to drop a line in Quick Reply field of any message what I'm going answer, but finish the whole mail anytime later - few days or more. Saving Quick Reply drafts gives full flexibility! party up

The current one Quick-Reply per mail implementation, combined with saving after closing Opera can be called "context drafts". smile

But if it would be easier to implement, these drafts might be saved in Notes panel and appear in some automatically handled "Quick Reply drafts" folder. Whatever.

scared Why create a new field when all we need is saving content of Quick Reply field?

I do too, but very often after reading a mail, I would like to drop a note somewhere about what am I going to answer - like "tell him that sth." - so I could write and send a full reply when I have time without need to re-read the message what I was going to reply - I just take a look at my draft and I know it straight away! partyyes king

Give the IRC client the features it deserves!
Opera should have a Tag based bookmark system
The Opera browser should go more Web2.0.

I hope it will come with new M2/M3. Please don't miss this wish. smile

A draft of reply stored right below mail in Quick Reply field seems to be awesome idea, isn't it? smile

I'd like to remind about this wish for a simple feature of keeping draft of reply right below mail in Quick Reply field between sessions.
Quick Reply field is already kept on per-email basis but all contents are lost after restart of Opera - so the only little thing that left to add is storing it between sessions. Please implement it.. chef

This could be done automatically - after sending email, all relating drafts would be deleted.

It seems you need a few other buttons besides the one given:
- a save draft button
- a "continue in e-mail composer" button

Hey, you may have use for all those other buttons, so why not use the normal reply instead?

In my humble opinion, quickreply is for top-posters. Why do you use it at all?

@HaJotKE, cenebris: there would be only one draft - visible directly below mail in Quick reply field. And yes, it can be automatically cleared upon sending reply.

@ersi: Save draft button is not needed - the quick-draft could be remembered in Quick reply field as notes are remembered - immediately. A continue in composer button could be added for convinience but it's surely not a must have.

I don't use Quick Reply, I rarely top-post and even if, I edit mail in normal Compose Reply window.
Normal reply is useful when one wants to write a complete mail and send it, one can use normal drafts for saving unfinished mail for later editing and sending.

Why I want to use quick reply? I want to make it more useable - to make it remember a draft of reply in context of mail for which the reply is - visible right below e-mail, no need to go to Drafts view! Very handy, fast and ERGONOMIC to use.
It can keep short memory dump what one will want to answer in reply later, e.g.: "Tell him to come on Monday", "Tell why it's a good choice: secure, fast, more expensive but will return with time" etc.

I would like to revive this topic, mentioning that Outlook has such feature - while you flag an e-mail you can also add a comment using up to 60 characters.
I use this feature at work and it is EXTREMELY handy, as I note in such comment for a later time what to do with such e-mail.

I hope it will finally be implemented into M2.
