When I run the Opera Mobile Emulator on my ArchLinux and I browse to google, It crashes with a "stack smashing detected" error.

No, it is not 'just Google'.

I am making some screen shots about the accessibility of my popular restaurants using operamobile on Ubuntu 10.04.

I encountered the stack smashing detected also. See dump info below.
Settings: Turbo off, Mobile View on.

The one here is for the site: http://www.specktakel.nl/ but it also happens
for my own site http://www.vonreeken.demon.nl/ .

Using Opera Mini on my HTC Desire has no problems with these sites.

Hope you can do something based on the crash dump information.

Update:
Installed OperaMobile on Windows 7. Both sites I mentioned above don't result in a crash.
Hope this helps.

I notice however that all fonts are serif on Windows (7) even though for my first page the font is defined as:
font-family: 'Andika', 'Nimbus Sans L', 'Arial', sans-serif;
where Andika is a downloaded font.

I'm using Opera Mobile on Nokia N900 and Asus T101MT tablet and loving it. But it lacks the plugin support and has some infamus bugs that causing regular crashs. Still it giving the best touchscreen web browsing experience to me.
I'm really wishing to have it's touch panning/scrolling, virtual keyboard and advanced small screen rendering features on Opera Desktop edition. Are you have a any plans about this?

Opera Mobile 11 released, but no emulator?

This is a very useful application, thanks very much.

It appears the version 10.1beta doesn't support seamless ntlm authentication with proxy servers. After entering the proxy details in opera:config \ Developer Tools, I'm prompted to enter my username and password which works ok, whereas the full desktop version doesn't prompt for any authentication when a proxy is set.

I'm not sure if this is due to needing an option for http1.1, but as the operamobile.ini file uses different criteria than the full desktop ini file its hard to see if there is a way to enable this.

Hopefully this can be addressed in future releases.

Will there be any plans to adapt the launcher for Opera Mobile 11 for Windows?

Looking nice, but I am not able to access the Internet. We are using a proxy, and I am not able to find any proxy settings?

Thanks, I have the same proxy settings as my Opera 11.11 for desktop. I'm using a proxy url, and it seems to be the same problem that was introduced in build 1150 and solved in build 1164 for desktop.

OperaMobileEmu.exe does not load a URL (with and without switch -url) calling on Windows 7 on commandline not beeing in OperaMobileEmu own directory.
It does not start if calling like:

P:\Opera\Mobile\OperaMobileEmu.exe http://example.org

In OperaMobile 10.1 emulator this worked fine.

Should i file as a bug?

I use Opera on my iPhone and it is very useful and makes the internet go much faster, but I just cant see how it would be useful on a regular computer. Normal computers go fast enough and dont have all the wieerd bugs Opera has

Opera Mobile Emulator on PCs is for testing and web programmers who create websites and applications for Opera Mobile.

I didnt have any probs with my win 7 either. And I love my Opera on my mobile.(sweet)

Nope - there is not currently an iPad version, and there is unlikely to be, due to Apple's app policy.

Current version of Opera Mobile Emulator 11.50.23731 for Windows does not work from commandline with URLs!
I filed this already as bug DECA-67 "Opera Mobile Emulator 11 ignores URL on command line" moths ago as you can see in http://dev.opera.com/forums/findpost.pl?id=9613672

As a webdesigner and -programmer i use to call other browsers (like Opera Mobile, Firefox, older Operas, Safari etc.) from Opera 11.52 (Desktop!) by menu command execute program for testing webpages.

But Opera OperaMobileEmu.exe does not startup with URL as a parameter!
nor by Opera (Desktop!) 11.52 menu command,
neither by command line like P:\Opera\Mobile\11\OperaMobileEmu.exe -u http://example.com

The Opera Devs did not fix this!
