Can't view .pdf statements on Chase.com

I have no idea why this is. Content blocking is even disabled on https://stmts.chase.com, in case part of the URL was caught by it or something. When I click on a statement to view, the new window opens, and then nothing happens. I don't like having to open Firefox just for this. Can something be done?

Can you post a direct link to a page where your issue appears? Or is an account needed to try this?

I can, but yes. If you don't have an account at Chase, you don't have statements to view, and you can't view others'.

Check your preferences | Advanced | Downloads
uncheck hide files opened with Opera
search for pdf
see what, if anything, is set as the default.

I am not new to .pdf's. p They're set to open in the default program, Foxit Reader.

I've never had any luck with either Foxit or PDF-XChange (Reader is fine) and if you find a solution I'd appreciate you posting it.

Tossing this URL into Opera with my current settings opens the .pdf just fine in Foxit:

www.education.gov.yk.ca/pdf/pdf-test.pdf

Kind of a separate issue if that doesn't work for you.

I can confirm this issue. Also a Chase customer and an Opera user, I can say this issue has been there for a while (so long that I can't even remember it starts with 10 or 9).

Basically the symptom is something like this:
Go into the Chase my account page, click on the "Statements" link under an account. Then the browser is forwarded to a statement list page that account is associated with. Until this step, everything is still fine.
But then, when I (or other Chase customer) click on one of those statement links, a new window will pop out, then it just keeps loading, loading and loading with a blank window indefinitely. No pdf or whatsoever shows up.

I know it could be a tough issue to tackle, since it involves the bank's security mechanism and could be beyond reach of the Opera team. So I never bothered to report or post it in the forum.p

Opera (Hallvors & others) is aware of this. Don't remember all the weird stuff that he explained to me that was going on with it. Don't think its to high on the "fix it" list though.

Just noticed something that works for me, don't know if it helps others or not. I use Foxit too. If I set the default action for pdf files in Opera to show the download dialog it works when I hit open. But, if when prompted you select remember this action for next time it won't work anymore. I tried all the other options to open with Opera using plugins, open with Foxit, etc. and they never worked.

This works, and you're absolutely right. I don't understand what's up with that, but I appreciate sharing the knowledge of the workaround, until something is done about this.

Clicking "open" manually also works for the foxit plugin for mozilla, to open the .pdf within the Opera tab. But, as you said, "remembering" to do that will cause it to immediately stop working...

Since Internet Explorer is able to display these pages properly, I would recommend that Opera try to fix this!
