Released: Widgets Runtime: WAC 1.0-supporting Alpha for Android.
Hello folks!Despite these short remaining days of 2010, Opera has prepared something to lighten everything up – an alpha version of Opera Widget Manager on Android with WAC 1.0 APIs support!
This build enriches user experience by supporting widgets that use device features such as gps, accelerometer, camera and others. To start playing with it, read more about it all here Widgets Runtime: WAC 1.0-supporting Alpha for Android. Let us know what you think!
We thank all Opera people that made this happen! Now it's time to start fixing bugs and prepare the next release
Thanks,

Been playing with the demo widgets, very cool. Camera isn't currently working with Huawei Ascend M860 Android 2.1-update1.
Yes I know that it is mentioned that camera won't work on some models, but I figured I would add the model to your knowledge base of currently unsupported. Camera video shows, but take picture crashes widget crash.

Hi all!
I've just installed the new runtime on my LG P500 and it's fantastic! It is fastest WAC runtime ever tried!
Unfortunately it seems to stuck while running widget developed on several pages,! ( i.e. I have to develop the widget on a single page to make it works )
Does anyone know how to resolve it or how to report the bug?
Thanks

The Runtime uses enormous amount of battery. I only placed an icon of Google translator on the homescreen of my phone, opened the widget and closed it immediately and by the end of the day the runtime used 20% of my battery! And what if I'd actually used any widgets?
And the icon on the homescreen has the size of one icon, but occupies the place of 4, which is seen when moving it.

I am really happy to have Opera widgets running on my mobile, I am currently making a widget and things are running smoothly, thanks to the widget emulator also. There are a few problems though:
1 - I couldn't find any widget emulator in the v10.1 package(tar.gz) for linux downloaded from http://www.opera.com/developer/tools/ but it's in the deb package though
2 - the chicken shooting widget runs really slow on my HTC Magic with Android 2.1 (Cyanogen Mod)
3 - in the alpha version of the widget runtime environment I could run widgets in landscape mode, but in the beta version when I turn the phone in landscape position the program disappears and when I reopen it it works fine but I can't change it to landscape mode (when I turn the phone nothing happens).

Hi,
When I used Widgets Runtime: WAC 1.0-supporting Alpha for Android into my LG optimusOne, It run the widget inside the runtime environment but not as the normal Android Widget. I want to make the widget run as Android widget directly onto the home screen. From the earlier discussion I found that peoples are able to run widget as a normal Android widget onto the home screen. Can any body help me out in doing so. I have to run the WAC supported widgets into Android. Is there possibility to place WAC widget onto home screen.
Thanks,
Prerna(Pre).

I have a few questions
Are Widgets hardware accelerated?
Will the capabilities of WAC APIs eventually be available for use in Opera Mobile through User-JavaScript ?
Will we eventually be able to launch WAC Widgets from within Opera Mobile?
Will Widgets and Opera Mobile be able to share data between on another?
