Bizarre behavior opera 11 under windows xp sp3

Hi.

This my first ever post, please be kind if I incur in any spelling error, I'm from Venezuela.

I have uploaded a page (http://www.videohipico.com/VideoHipico/test/TestWmv.html) as a test so that you can see my problem.

The page, strangely enough, does not ALLWAYS, show the windows media player, about 90% of the times called.

It works perfectly in Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Safari.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong, how can I make it work.

This affects a few sites in which I'm the programmer and as I'm trying to make them fully compatible with the most used browsers, and how the only one that presents this problem, if I can't get this behavior fixed I will have to put some warning like, "OUR SITE DOES NOT WORK WELL WITH THE OPERA BROWSER, PLEASE USE .........." or something like that.

I like the Opera browser but this problem is something that I need to be fixed.

Thanks beforehand for your response(s),

Carlos A. Pérez M.

55 times read and nobody leaves any kind of message, strange.

I wonder, can anyone give me an example of a working page with Windws Media player so I can look at it and see if I can get any solution to this problem.

Windows media player cannot play the file, the file is either corrupt or in an unsupported format

Does that help?

PS: Looks like I had to update WMP (I had v.9, it updated to v.11) and now it works.

This is what I get, terrible sound-track quality. Very standard Opera installation.

Don't worry about the quality, I know it's bad, it's just a test.
I can see you are not using wmp version 11 and that is the version my users are using and complaining about.
