How to disable google docs from automatic opening pdf files?
I am using Opera 11.0.Anytime i click on link connected to pdf, instead of using my setting for opening pdf, Opera opens pdf with google docs.
This can be really big problem because if I am opening pdf attached in mail it first has to be uploaded to google docs to see it. Then i have to click on download original to make use my setting for opening pdf.
Sometimes i have message to stop using scripts for this page, then in stead of google docs Opera uses my setting.
How to reach this script and disable it (so Opera can always use my setting)?
Opera nowhere in settings offers option to open pdf files with google docs, is there any setting on google docs for this problem.
Is this due to google docs or to Opera setting?
My current opera setting is set to open pdf files with Adobe reader plug-in (which happens only when browser gives me window with disable script option).
Preferred program is Foxit, but there is no option newer to use google docs without asking.
This message pops up sometimes:
"<docs.google.com>
Google Docs was unable to download/open this file. This can happen because the file is corrupt or can only be accessed by you. Do you want to open this file using the default application set in Opera?
WARNING: Opening a file from an untrusted source can be dangerous and should only be done if you know what you are doing.

In the same window is option to stop running scripts on this page.
Few weeks ago there was one pop up saying do I want to use google docs to open files. After that nothing i set in preferences can't stop google docs from opening pdf files.

Hi.
I have the same problem. Opera opens pdf (and other, like doc) files with google docs viewer. There is no way to turn it off. These are what I did so far to turn google docs off:
- Delete all google related cookies
- Disable all google scripts with the NotScripts extension.
- Set opera to use download dialog when downloading pdfs.
No luck so far.
Also, I never installed any kinds of google plugins, userJSs, or anything related to google, thus there's nothing to turn off.
What I also noticed, is that at the bottom of opera, the link which should point to the pdf file is actually a link with google docs added. Opera won't open the download dialog, because the link doesn't actually point to a pdf file, but it points to google docs with the pdf link added instead.
I concluded, that this must be a bug in opera, since it does this with every possible site I visited so far, this "feature" appeared on 2 different computers, and there is no known way to turn it off. I hope the developers will address this issue shortly. It is very annoying.

Quite frustrating to go through all these efforts to correct the problem as I did. I'd expect Opera to post the solution by now.
Go to Manage Extentions—Under the Tool menu, go to Extensions, then Manage Extentions (Opera on Mac; also Command + Shift + E). There you will hopefully find an extension named "Documents preview." Simply click Disable.
Enjoy!

i had the same problem.
go to
tools>advanced>(double click on) pdf in extensions (enter your favorite pdf reader here..)>press "show download dialog"
this after you have disabled the "ctrl-shift-e" doc reader from google, in case you have it..
works like it used to on my computer, hope this helps.

I'm going Nuts!
it doesn't work.
What is happening? Why I can't remove this problem?
I see that suddenly after Opera starts the links to pdf files are ok, then every link with a pdf has a string before referring to docs.google.com
I don't know what to do. I tried your suggestion too, freefuzz: it doesn't work for me sadly.
What is happening here?

I was having the same issue and found it was MY FAULT. (All pdf and other document file links were prefixed with a Google Docs link) I had installed "Documents" extension by Christoph142. For someone else it might be a useful extension because it allows you to automatically open files in Google Docs. I have NO interest in Google Docs myself and wish the extension stated it used Google Docs... Anyway, disabling that extension fixed it for me.
