Smart card support
Is there anything new about Opera smart card support? Appears like it's still missing?I understand that only small newcomers on browser market limit their usage to occasional sites.
But because smart card identification is part of daily browsing every serious browser should support smart card.
Without it don't hope any serious market share to browser as users still must have MSIE or Firefox ready to shoot.
It looks like not all countries use it and that many may not know it's importance.
In many countries it used for Internet banking or for passwordless access to any official sites like phone companies, custom declarations, tax office, whole sellers, renewing drivers license, gas company ... actually the list is endless of services, I can access and manage from Internet today.

I'm from one of those countries. All our big websites are using this state-issued smart card for authentication. Firefox, IE and Chrome support smart cards. Why not Opera?
I`m also from such a country. It`s an issue for me, because I`m accountant and I need to work with tax authorities and they require smart card certificates here.

lack of Opera's smart card support was under discussion already years ago..
Sure it was and it will continue to pop up every now and then. Several times each year I check what's happening with this inexistent feature and even though I remember Yngve mentioning that it's on his list 5 years ago, it now seems all but completely forgotten. Evidently eye candy is more suitable for the development agenda or there's some other reason for not proceeding with PKCS#11 which nobody wants to officially state.
