XDCC transfers

Today I tried to use Opera to join an IRC channel and receive a file through xdcc.

A private message appeared telling me to click on the file's name and choose a download location for the file.
Then the downloads panel showed the file with an error icon and a file size of 0 B.

However, the download continued and of course, there was no way to cancel it.


I didn't expect Opera to be capable of transferring files through dcc, but it seems it needs a few tweaks and fixes to be fully functional.

In Opera 12 alpha build 1105 this bug has not yet been solved cry cry !!

I hope that in future in subsequent builds of Opera 12 this bug be solved once and for all wink

While you're fixing this, please also fix the 2GB file transfer limit which was present in Opera 10.xx! Lots of files are over 2GB nowadays, and it's a pain to have to use a different IRC client to receive those files!

Note to everyone else: Check that link out! And untick "Can accept incoming connections." to use passive mode! That *should* fix the problem of 0 bytes for files smile.

I'll explain: as you see in the image above in Opera 11.5x and 11.6x easily download the file, only that the downloads tab returns the error 0B sad it is obvious that this is a bug...

No TripleDude the problem the problem is not resolved. Also to the default option can accept incoming connections is disabled. As I said the file is downloaded correctly only that the Downloads tab returns the error 0B.. cry

mike-jeee is right. Opera successfully downloads, it's just that the transfer screen doesn't display it properly.

You can always check the actual folder it's downloading into, and if you press F5 to refresh, you'll see the file size increasing until it completes.
