Account expires in 3 months!!??
Excuse me, but the new restriction that OperaMail account gets deleted after 3 months of inactivity is just ridiculous. I've had my Operamail.com account since before I was born, to exaggerate just a bit.Ofcourse, everyone understands that a 3MB account cannot be a main mail account. I've been using it for singing up to the webpages, getting information from certain online services where there are no attachments etc. So I've been using it most of the time, but not every day or every month! As you see one can mostly use this account for purposes other than regular everyday mail.
Now the new restriction that an account get deleted after 3 monts of inactivity is just PLAIN STUPID! I'd like to keep using Operamail, but now it seems that I have to download all the messages and forget about it because I know there's going to be a period where I do not log in for more than 3 months.
I'd suggest you remove this restriction at least for operamail.com accounts or move the expiration time to some reasonable value like 2 or 3 years.
Most webmails that do this will email you (at an alternative address you set) saying that the account has been disabled due to inactivity. Then, all you have to do is log in to reactivate it. But, you don't have to log in and reactivate it right away, you can do it months later if you want.

I've been told by Webmaster that because there's an underscore in my name this is no longer acceptable in their new system and they will be deleting my opermail account after the 27 April. But thing I can't understand and can't get them to comment on (they replied and referred me to the forum) is .. do they intend to close my blog and get me to open a new blog in a revised name? The thought of of losing my blog as it stands and as it is with all my records, posts, and so on and my writing, since 2004 is horrendous. And if they do mean I must change my blog name then what happens to all the links I have with friends and other bloggers and their links back to me and all my history and archive records? I can't believe Opera Webmaster would force such a thing on me or anyone just because there is an underscore text character in my blog name. Surely they are only referring to me losing my webmail and not my My Opera blog?

) If you do change your username, I understand you still keep all of your blog posts and photographs at your site. But links to your posts, albums and individual photos, those will be broken, as seen in Mic's experience here. I am considering username change myself. But I would like to wait until automated link redirect from old username to new username becomes possible.

I'm actually waiting for the end of Unite service. I will then start a campaign asking to let us use the Link and Mail again. (us = the users with _ and other "illegal" letters in their user accounts.) It was Unite that had the problem with those characters. Link and Mail were fine.
