hi, thank you for the answer. If that's the case, then 5.1 was using an http connection even though i had selected socket, and the reverting to http that 6 is doing is only a more accurate behaviour.
But that doesn't explain why 6 is much slower than 5.1 when surfing. If they're both using http, is there anything that could be throttling opera 6's performance?

BRAVOs and KUDOS' to the Opera TEAM!!! I tried it out...it was brilliant...and I'm out of expectations. A pity I currently happen to be on a visit to Saudi Arabia. Now the OPERA server has been comprehensively blocked in EVEN MORE cities, if not all.

Now my questions is: Since which version has the Chinese edition been programmed to access the global servers??? I mean, v3.1.2 can still connect (quite ashtonishingly sherlock ).

Anyway, guys at OPERA, congratulations...and have a good day. (I will too...we AAALLLLL desrve it cool happy )
Do you think that the link to "Forum Settings" should be on the Account page for users' convenience?

on my S60v5 Sony Ericsson Vivaz U5i (Single-touch device) I'd like to see "Hold and drag" gesture for zooming pages.
For example, you touch (in any point on screen), wait 0.5 sec, move up or down while holding.
Not long time ago I found this function in Picsel Smart Office 2010 program.
It could be a great experience of further using existing Opera's Mini 6 great (at all) zoom and page render engine.

i was surfing reddit. Now, at random times, when i'm on another site and click a link it will load reddit instead. Since this seems similar to problems i had with facebook, i'd like to know if this is common.

Sync process is stopped right after last speed dial synced = means that is better to replace the next one (dial 5 in this case) with something else more digerable, perhaps opera sync server have bad teeth.

In the next or beta version of Opera mini 6, the vibration should be made optional in order to save battery power.

1. There is no menu to set save folder.

2. Before i deleted my opera mini 6.0 symbian, i make a back up on my saved pages from e:\system\apps\opera\savedpages but when after i reinstall it, and put back the back up files to savedpages folder, it didn't appear on my opera saved pages section on the application.

3. No "view url" or "copy link location" menu (just like the opera mini 4.2(java) to open hidden links that can be copied or edited before loading it.

4. Advance java script to make timers move & animated images and/or flash support to play flash games or flash movies and clips.

5. When opening more than 2 tabs at a time, then you lost connection, after you reload every tab, all of those tabs will be redirected to 1 of the site opened.

*nods* @ SAGRID: I deleted it, and reinstalled. Works like a charm. up

@ xan2610: no saved pages, you'd need access to the phones file system.

This is extremely annoying and a rather odd oversight.

If you can be bothered, there is a (overly complex) workaround for this.

1. Save a new page in Opera Mini 6

2. Locate the Saved Pages folder (not the one you saved yourself).

3. Note down or copy the filename of the saved page.

4. Go into your own saved page folder and rename one of the files to the name you just copied.

5. Move the old file with the new name into Opera Mini's Saved Pages folder. You'll get a message informing you that a file with that name already exists, and it'll ask if you'd like to replace it.
Select Yes.

Opera Mini should now read that file and be able to open it.

You'll have to do that for each saved page.

As I said, it's a rather complex method, but if you want your old saved pages back, this appears to be the only way of accomplishing that.

Hello all,
i enjoy opera mini 5. very much.
especially the 'one tap zoom' feature.
when I've updated to 6. , that feature is now replaced to double tap which i hate on the iPhone!
so i went back to 5...
any one knows if there's a way to make version 6. zoom with one tap?
thanks.

Hi,

My Opera Mini won't go past the white screen on the first run.

I think becuase it is connecting to socket connection which my phone cannot access.

Please kindly tell me how to make it to connect to http connection by default.

thanks in advance.

I've submitted this as an official bug (146131) but worth banging on about it again here.

The bug... OM opening the wrong link! A reliable workaround is long press the link and opening the link in a new tab, it will open the correct page.

This is a basic browser function so why does this kind of basic bug persist in new releases?

(sigh, tried to edit this post to add the bug number but got some error so had to use the workaround to open the Edit link in a new tab!)

I just updated to latest 6.1 version. As far as I know Opera Mini has been crashing all the time with S60 5th platform. (Nokia C6-00) I often feel like it could have something to do with keyboard or JavaScript form handlers. Crashes seem to happen when I enter or exit form fields or use keyboard. This issue has been there for long time, and I hope this update would fix it. But I'm rather skeptical about that.

I'm so used to the problem that I almost never try to fill out any forms with Mini. Opera Mobile doesn't do any better. It doesn't crash like Mini but it completely hangs. It seems that OS is unable to kill that process and booting whole phone is required.

Only thing why I'm bothering to write about these issues is that I really love Opera Mini and Mobile. Alternatives like Bolt, Nokia's own browser and Skyfire really pale in comparison.

Yup, confirmed. Crashed again after about 4 minutes of playing with webmail.

When I press on a link, opera opens.
But when I tap the address bar
Nothing happens.
So browser changer works,
I even reinstalled it too make sure.
Any one else is experiencing this problem??
I am forced to disable The changer & use safari...
I don't liked safari...
This is frustrating!

Thanks.

Hmm, with fullscreen edit set off should work. It's more like an 'ext:' problem, sort of wrong link and this bug is still present in mini5 beta1 for almost all devices btw. What if you push 5 taste before startup? I doubt that bidi support will interact in this case.
