Definitely improved text box entry. And URLs are editable, too. My biggest two peeves fixed.

Thanks!

Hi,

The Opera Mini 6.1 for BlackBerry is outstanding. I use a Bold 9650 on Verizon and web pages load fast and look great. In fact, I'm using it now to make this post. Great job to the OM team for a wonderful browser.

Um.. Opera Mini 6.1 isn't out. You mean Opera Mini 6 Update 1. Yeah I had to point this out since you're the second person I've seen post 6.1, Street. =P

That's right - it's not Opera Mini 6.1, but "Opera Mini 6 update 1 for BlackBerry".

Hi,

Sorry, I guess I was in a hurry. I stand corrected. The Update 1 of Opera Mini 6 is great. IMO, it beats the Blackberry native browser hands down. Web pages load fast and smooth. Browsing the net on my Bold 9650 is finally fun. Thanks Opera.

The only thing I wish it could do is showing animated gifs like weather radar. Still have to use the slow native browser for that. My area doesn't have 3G or 4G. Not even EDGE. Just stone age GPRS. That's why OM is so important for me.

Hey there Opera, running Opera Mini 6 on my BB Torch and just downloaded it again on the 21st of May as my cell had to be replaced due to faulty track pad. Had Opera Mini 6 on the BB Torch that this one replaced but on the 'old' cell when I viewed my chess boards for active games at Cellufun. The chess board would fill my display window in portrait view just so that game title or opponent's name appeared and the address lettering for the chess board files or vertical columns of squares and was very easy to just touch the piece or square to select the piece to be moved then do same again to touch and select square selected piece was to be moved to. Now with the version just downloaded the chess boards are covering less than 50% of my display and need to move by pointing cursor to squares to select pieces to move and squares to move to. When first downloaded to this new BB Torch the chess board graphic kept changing from filling the display then alternated to just show the smaller board but has now seemed to have settled at just showing the very small rendering of the chess boards that makes making moves very precarious. I've tried changing the graphics resolution and font size whick seemed to have worked in the past but the chess boards still remain small now. Any ideas on what might be causing this? Please and Thank You.

Yahoo! uses Bing, so no. As for the display problems with Yahoo! Mobile, that's up to Yahoo! to fix.

As for the start page, you can't customize it except for adding/removing Speed Dials and turn on/off the Start Page links.

I have a BB Tour. I had Opera mini 5 and was very happy with it. Today, when I opened opera mini, it said there is a new version available and asked if I wanted to upgrade. I clicked yes, and my opera mini was upgraded to version 6. However, I am having problems with it (trackball is way too sensitive, font size set on the smallest size is too big) and I'd like to delete version 6 and download version 5. However, I can't seem to find a link anywhere that let's me download opera mini 5 for blackberry. Can someone please give me a link to download version 5? Thank you so much

Did you get Opera Mini 6 update 1 for BlackBerry? The sensitivity was improved with 6's 1st update, though if it's not good enough for you, 5 should still be available on m.opera.com (but if not, visit this thread for direct download links of Opera Mini 5).

Which device? Try highlighting the speed dial you want to change and pressing "1."

You can assign a speed dial to any Web site as long as that site is exposed to the Internet (i.e. not an Intranet or private network site). You cannot move the speed dial boxes, you have to assign them in the order you want to see them.

I got a different problem. I used to be able to use the new opera mini doing banking with my citi cards account. Now since about a week, whenever I log in all I get is a white screen with the correct page info in the top banner. It logs in successfully, but I only get a blank page. At home on the PC the page comes up just fine. What is going on?

It's a commonly asked question.

Touch phones:
Press and hold on the Speed Dial you wish to modify to open a context menu where one of the options will allow you to delete the current Speed Dial.

Non-Touch phones:
Highlight a Speed Dial and press and hold the center soft key/trackball (varies by phone) until the context menu appears. You can also press 1 on the keypad after highlighting a Speed Dial to open the context menu.
