Ramadan is In
Remember back in May when our President would not honor (Christ centered) National Day of Prayer with the traditional White House ceremony? Well he is now going to honor the start of the Muslim observance of Ramadan with a White House video message. Okay, I still do not think he is a closet Muslim. But I do feel he has strong Islamic sympathies. Again I hope all of his Christian supporters and the Christian non supporters will pray as I pray for Pres. Barack Obama to see and accept for himself that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life. Addendum: View the video at Islam in Action.
A Christian Church Victory
What is it when it comes to saying yes to business with different groups but saying no to Christian groups? The Broome Community College would not rent space to the North Point Church in Binghamton, New York to hold worship services. They cited their policy of not renting to community religious groups, but they rented space to other community groups. The Alliance Defense Fund stepped in on behalf of North Point and now the college is renting to the church.
Jesus' Name Victory
After Rev. Gerry Stoltzfoos was first invited, he was then rejected from opening the start of the Pennsylvania State Senate in prayer, because he prays in Jesus' name. The PA Senate wanted a nondenominational prayer. Rev. Stolzfoos refuse to do that. For true Christians not praying in Jesus' name is not an option. The PA Senate reversed its position and Rev. Stoltzfoos was invited back to pray and he prayed in Jesus' name.
First Victory for Fathima Rifqa Bary
Fathima Rifqa Bary ran away from home in Ohio to Florida, because she feared she would be killed by her father after he found out she had given her life to Jesus Christ. Rifqa Bary who is 17 has already suffered beatings at the hands of her father and brother for turning to Christ. A Florida Judge has allowed her to stay in Florida for now. She has another hearing on Sept. 3 at 2:30 for the dependency argument. Please stay in prayer. Read more here and here.
