Voter Values Summit
The 2009 Values Voters Summit will focus on Conservative values. This summit will be held in Washington D. C. and is from Sept. 18th to the 20th. One of the top social conservatives to speak is Rep Michelle Bachmann, R-Minn. I wish I could attend a day of this summit. I like Rep. Bachmann. She is labeled a Rightwing nut from some of those on the left. I have heard her on talk radio and seen her on cable news programs. The left is trying to marginalize what they see as a future formidable opponent. She is good, very good! The Voters Value Summit is sponsored by Focus on the Family.
Possible Supreme Court Case
A Third Circuit Court of Appeals decision upheld a lower court's ruling that the Culbertson Elementary School officials’ decision in Newtown Square, PA did not violate the Busch family's First Amendment rights. Kindergartner Wesley Busch’s mother was invited to read a favorite passage of her son’s which was from the Psalms in the bible during the class's “all about me’ week. The school principal said no and suggested a book dealing with witches and Halloween. A request to the Supreme Court has been made to hear this case. Read more here.
