Health Care and Congress
Democrats/Liberals are lauding the health care bill. I have gotten into it with a few in the local urban radio station chatroom several months back about the negatives of the proposed bill. One got so upset with me about my remarks to the comment, "We're going to get socialized medicine." These people thought Pres. Obama's health care overhaul will fix everything. It has recently been reported that the Senate version of the bill will maintain cuts to medicare. How is that for a part of the health care fix?

Now Think about this! If the health care bill becoming law is such a wonderful thing, how come Congress is exempted from the health care particulars that the rest of us will be under?

Saying No to Objecting Parents
For all the parents who have children in public schools, how do you deal with thematic learning units that you find objectionable? How does your school district deal with parental objections. The homeschooling movement is growing due to folks not having private school as an option. They do not like what and how certain subjects/topics are being taught to their children. They do not like how their school districts ignore their objections. Homeschooling use to be primarily the domain of Christian parents; but these days, parents from all belief systems and walks of life are getting into homeschooling.

How would you feel as a parent about your children being taught from a pro gay curriculum. Think about homework and project assignments on a pro gay theme! This is happening in Alemeda County in California. Some parents have made their objections known and have requested an opt-out lesson plan for their children. Judge Frank Roesch as ruled against the protesting parents. Read more here. I wonder if the curriculum will include reading recommended books by Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings that promote 'sex acts between preschoolers!'

In Addition...
I blogged earlier this week on conservative talk radio. I named a few of the talkers I currently listen to. I forgot to mention that I also listen on Saturday nights at 9:00 p.m. eastern to Kevin McCullough and Stephen Baldwin Xtreme Radio/TV. I listen to (and view them) on the computer, because none of the radio stations that they are on in southeastern PA come in clear enough for listening. They both know the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and deal with the issues of the day from their Christian perspective.

Pres. Obama All Over TVA Scott Stanis Cartoon
There were a lot of funny editorial cartoons on Pres. Obama going from TV program to TV program last week. On the Sunday News programs, he was everywhere but Fox News. That was a BAD call. From what I have heard and read, the Pres. wanted to reach more people especially his critics to promote the health care bill. So shouldn't he have gone on the Fox Sunday News Program? That cable news channel has the largest viewing audience of the news channels and news programming. Fox news has a larger audience than MSNBC and CNN combined.

I think that Chris Wallace would not have been any harder than George Stephanopoulos on President friendly ABC. I wonder if one of the reasons for Pres. Obama not going on Fox had anything to do with not wanting to share the program with ACORN's Bertha Lewis. Could it be that he didn't want that immediate association!

The Plot Thickens in the Philly Area Swimming Pool Racism Incident
Remember hearing about the day camp of largely black and latino children being tossed out of the Valley Club's swimming pool on June 29th? The excuse given was that there were too many children for the pool to accommodate them. Well the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission has determined that Valley club officials did discriminate against the children.

Even worse, a woman who questioned why all the black children were there and sent negative emails about the children to various swim club members had been a few of the children's math teacher at the school they attend. She charged that one particular child was a thief. That child's mother is legally going after the teacher for slander and etc., because the school authorities never attributed any stolen items to her child. The mother says her child was never disciplined by the school for stealing. There is now a growing protest from the school's parents to have the teacher terminated. Arise! Cry Out!: Praying for the Next Generations
Moms in Touch International will be hosting a prayer event, calling on women around the world to "Arise! Cry Out!" on November 14th. This is about praying for the next generations. Go here by way of CitizenLink.com for more details.

Lamentations 2:19
Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to him for the lives of your children, who faint from hunger at the head of every street.

Herbert and Zelmyra Fisher
Ending on a beautiful note, Herbert and Zelmyra Fisher of James City, North Carolina hold the Guinness World Record for the longest marriage of a living couple. They have been married 85 years. How inspiring is that in this current age when Christian couples have an ever growing divorce rate? They still live in the home, Mr. Fisher built in 1942. Mrs. Fisher GIVES GOD THE GLORY. Read all about it here by way of Black Christian News. To think, they are old enough to be my 83 years old mother's parents!

A Youtube Update From Zo

A Faith Based Prison
A Christian faith based prison is awaiting state approval in Wakita, Oklahoma. This prison will house inmates serving their final 12 to 24 months in the system. A church group will be working with them and their families. Inmates will be taught how to become citizens again. Individuals from the church group will continue to mentor inmates in their ex-convict status. Read more here.

The End Benefits For a Man Given Domestic Chores and Activities Growing Up
For a long time I worked in the same place with a male who was a part of the custodial department. He said because he cleaned for a living, he did not do housework at home. He had daughters and a son. He always defended not giving his son any way near the amount of household chores that were given to his daughters. I wonder what he would say about this tribute from Charles Martel to being assigned domestic chores and taught domestic activities while growing up!

Thoughts on the Late Ted Kennedy
Sen. Kennedy was highly respected by people around me despite Chappaquiddick. One of my late aunts loved the Kennedy family and always thought Ted Kennedy would make a great president. But after Chappaquiddick (which happen a few days after I turned 18) during my Democrat years, Mary Jo Kopechne always came to mind whenever Ted Kennedy came up in the news.

I am seeing far more non tributes to Sen. Ted Kennedy than respectful tributes. Coming from a very wealthy family, Sen. Kennedy never had to worry about money and paying bills. I remember reading an article on his first wife Joan. She said that the Kennedy wealth allowed him to donate his senate salary to charity. Say what you want, you have to admit he was a tireless fighter for liberal causes. A viewer comment read on Bill O'Reilly's program said that he wished there were more conservatives in Congress with the fighting spirit of Sen. Kennedy.

Rifqa Bary
Are you continuing to pray for 17 years old Rifqa Bary (She prefers not to use her first name Fathima)? Please keep her in your prayers. Her dependency hearing is on Sept 3rd. She must not be sent home to her father. Please check out the Atlas Shrugs blog for posts dealing with Rifqa Bary like this one.

She is now an apostate to Islam for converting to Christianity. Rifqa Bary says that Jesus Christ is her Savior. The Quran calls for the killing of apostates and she says her father must prove he loves Islam over her. I implore you to email the Florida Governor at charlie.crist@myflorida.com on behalf of Rifqa Bary. She needs to be emancipated from her parents.

Fathima and Other Islamic Controversies

, , , ...

Fathima Rafiqa Bary's father claims she has been kidnapped by a cult and brainwashed. The cult charge is being thrown at a Christian church in Florida. Fearing fearing honor killing for converting to Christianity, she ran away from her Ohio home to Florida and was given sanctuary by the church pastor. Fathima became a Christian before she connected with the church pastor online. The father, Mohamed Bary has said he is not going to kill her and that she is free to practice her religion.

I wonder if Fathima will face death at the hands of another male relative. She is currently in protective custody in Florida. I hope her case gets delayed due to a heavy court docket. I hope by the time it is dealt with, she will have turned 18; thus, parental authority will be moot. But that does not mean she will be safe from her family. Please keep Fathima in your prayers. Read more at Atlas Shrugs and then go here to read about the latest acts of persecution of Christians in Islamic countries.

Fathima Rafiqua Bary comes from a culture that condones horrific treatment of women. I shake my head at American women who convert to Islam. Muslims claim that honor killing is not in the Quran, but it is done with ease in Middle Eastern Islamic countries. How many honor killers are brought to justice for murder? They go on living their lives. It is like honor killing is a protected right. Go here to read of very recent acts of oppression suffered by Islamic women.

Ladies, this is what you must look like when you swim at Sharia observing public swimming facilities in the U.K. Can you imagine being all garbed up like that in a swimming pool? Just take a good look a that body wrap from head to toe just to go swimming! You are thinking this is only for Muslim women. Wrong! The Sharia based dress code for swim wear is for non Muslim women too? This is an example of creeping Sharia in non Muslim countries. What is it about the United Kingdom leaders that they feel that the country has to bow down to the Sharia imposers?

And finally, the summer weather in south eastern PA has been below normal. I am not complaining. I like the warm weather minus the intense heat and humidity. Of course this little part of the world is not completely free from the heat and humidity. We are currently experiencing the sizzle after hardly any of this kind of weather in July (rather unusual). So now I ask my annual question! How can the women I see walking around in niqabs stand it?

Mix-Up: Dr. Alveda King, Reproductive Discrepancy, Kiss-In Event and Fast Foods

, , , ...

For Those Who missed Hearing Dr. Alveda King

Reproductive Health Discrepancy
There is Democrat discrepancy on whether or not the controversial health care bill provides services for abortion. The issue is coming up at the town hall meetings. You will be hearing the term reproductive health in debates over this issue. It is the liberal political euphemism for abortion.
The Great Nation Wide Kiss-In
I am late with this, but did you know today is National Kiss-In Day? This gay event is to take place in in 35 cities around the country. It will take place locally in downtown Philly in Love Park around 1:00 PM. Go here to read more about it and to see who are the other participating cities where people will be publicly displaying/flaunting their homosexual preference.

Loving Fast Foods
Finally, I had a good laugh with Greg Gutfeld on Fox and Friends going after critics of Pres. Obama's Surgeon General nominee Dr. Regina Benjamin for having anything to do with Burger King. He and the hosts got into all the favorite fast food they like and have eaten.

Steve Doocy loved that his father use to bring a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken home for dinner on pay day. My father use to bring barbecue chicken or ribs home for dinner on his pay day. I could not find a video of that segment, but here is Greg Gutfeld's column on the subject.

Keep Fathima in Florida

, , , ...

Fathima Rifqa Bary is 17 years old and from Ohio. She is from a Muslim background and ran away to Florida to seek sanctuary from her father, because she has become a Christian. She has been in the home of a Florida pastor. Legally she is still a minor and could be sent home to her family. This young lady says her father has to kill her because of her rejection of Islam. She says that he has to prove that he loves Islam more than he loves her.

Fathima has been removed from the pastor’s home and is begging the Florida officials not to send her back, but the Florida Department of Children and Families does not really believe her story and says she should be returned to Ohio. You can read more here. The link is by way of wnd.com

Fathima’s father has come to Florida to take her back and denies that he will kill her. Now the injunction of taqiyya (spelled with either a “k” or a “q”) comes boldly to my mind. This injunction allows for deliberate lies to promote and honor Islam. Do you remember what happened to two American Texan sisters who had an American mother and a Muslim Father. You can read about that tragedy here. And more on Fathima here.

People have been beat and disowned by their parents and other family members in this country for departing from their faith, but it is accepted within Islam to murder family members who depart from it. I pray that Fathima will not become a victim of honor killing. She needs to be able to stay with the Florida pastor and his family.

Another Weekend Mix: Student STD Testing, Born Alive Infants, Positively David Tyree and a Resurging GOP

, , , ...

Testing High School Students for STDs
Every high school student in Washington D. C. will be offered free Sexually transmitted disease (STDs) testing. Chlamydia and gonorrhea among adolescents make up half the cases in the District of Columbia. Minors older than 12 can be screened for STDs without parental consent everywhere in the United States.

A District of Columbia public school 2007 study revealed 60 percent of high school students and 30 percent of middle school students reported having had intercourse. Twenty percent of the high school students said they had had sex with four or more partners, and 12 percent of the middle school students said they had had three or more partners. What does this say about parental responsibility, guidance and discipline? Read more here.

Pres. Obama and Born Alive Infants (Botched Late Term Abortions)

David Tyree On the Positive Side
New York Giants wide receiver David Tyree loves the United States of America and feels it is the best. He loves the freedom and independence. Mr. Tyree believes in living his life in a way that is a positive example for those paying attention to him. He believes people have to work together. Unity is the key for progress. He uses the microcosm of a football team winning the Super Bowl and applies that example of working together in unity for victory in life’s challenges. Hear David Tyree in his own words.

Resurgence of the GOP
Now some of you may not find this positive, but the Republican Party has not met its demise as some believed when Barack Obama was elected our President and the Democrats received a strong majority in both houses of Congress. It appears that Democrats are facing lost of congressional seats in 2010 like the Republicans did in 2006 and 2008 according to Rasmussen Reports. Rasmussen polling did a pretty good job in tracking the President's and Sen. John McCain's numbers throughout the presidential election last year.

The Weekend Story Mix: Gay Opposition, Fat is the New Smoking, Eric Holder and a Late Clarification

, , , ...

Gays After Pro Traditional Marriage State Senator
In May, Republican State Senator John Eichelberger, of Hollidaysburg, PA sponsored a constitutional amendment protecting traditional marriage. Kesystone Progress bankrolled by homosexual activists is a Pennsylvanian progressive politics vehicle that zeros in on Republican freshmen for defeat. Sen. Eichelberger is a current target, because he stands against redefining marriage to include those in homosexuality. Sen. Eichelberger has this Pennsylvanian's support.

Attorney General Eric Holder
Our Attorney General Eric Holder in 1998 when he was a deputy A. G. under Janet Reno expressed concern for the continual growth of pornography. Currently pro-family advocates have sent a letter to Mr. Holder reminding him of his 1998 concern, to speak out against porn and enforced the pornography laws currently on the book by prosecuting all offenders.

The porn laws have not always been enforced. A few months ago on a cable news program, former Focus on the Family President Dr. James Dobson said the Clinton administration was not so great at enforcing the pronograph laws. Read more here and read the letter and see which pro-family leaders signed the letter here.

Going After the Fat
Remember when smokers abound and then little by little, it became increasingly difficult to pull out and smoke a cigarette. You notice nowadays especially during the colder months, people huddled up outside buildings on a smoke break? Well this administration through the proposed health care bill are coming after overweight people. Fat! It’s the New Smoking!

Late Clarification
In conclusion, I have an extremely late clarification to make. In my Dec 11 post, I felt that my comments to the blog of the early morning talk host on Philly's one and only urban and liberal talk radio station had been rejected. I really thought the local talker had gotten sick of my opposing conservative comments. The truth was that reader comments were not making it to the blog regardless of political viewpoint.

Well the problem with reader comments turned out to be one of spam. The early morning host made it clear that he would approve comments whether pro or con to his views. My comments still did not appear on his blog, but the situation was finally corrected. The early morning host and I are now Facebook friends which has opened up more opportunities for my loyal opposition commenting.
