Zo is now with Pajamas Media exclusively. They do not offer an embedding code for their free videos. Just click on the image (a video promo will appear first for a few seconds) to hear Zo on human rights as they relate to Iran in comparison to the United States.
We Americans really take our freedoms for granted! Zo also takes human rights further with current leadership attitudes toward the unborn and universal healthcare. Zo is so good. He hits the nail on the head every time.

People, Cell Phone Video, Iran, News

Bob Gorrell CartoonI love that countries like Iran can't completely clamp down on Internet Technology. Between Twitter, cell phone video and other Internet communications, Iran can't censor all communications. They can't beat it, behead it, blow it up, etc.
A couple of other fascist, communist dictatorial countries have been able to harness the Internet technology to their government's advantage while being able to block certain web aspects from the citizenry. Nevertheless, Iran has not kept up with Internet technology, thus we have learned about such situations as the young woman protester named Neda being shot dead in the streets; thus, becoming a worldwide martyr for free honest elections in Iran and other such countries.

Elections, Ahmadinejad, Iran, Editorial Cartoon
...
Addendum, Wednesday June 17, 2009: In their efforts to control what is really going on in Iran with that jacked up election, Ahmadinejad and the Mullahs can't force down the Internet. You've got to love that. They can't beat down, shoot or blow up Twitter!
This is a Glenn McCoy CartoonI have communicated with a person in this country who feels Ahmadinejad was re-elected fair and square. We got into a challenging match over his love for Iran. He would be particularly offended by this editorial cartoon, but we all know this is spot on.

Internet Cafe, Islamic Culture, Iran, News
...
Internet cafes are being closed down in the Tehran Province of Iran and people are being detained. Imagine the police after you, because you get on the Internet. People there do not have computer and Internet connections in their homes as we do here in the U. S.. Chat rooms are very popular where it makes it easier for people of opposite sex to talk to one another. Iranian Islamic culture makes that very difficult unless it is within the context of husband and wife or family/relative.
Iranian people are being sought for what Islamic culture deems as immoral. This includes some games and storing obscene photos. Women are getting into trouble for being at these Internet cafes with improper hijabs (muslim female head scarf). Web sites that are deemed unIslamic are blocked. Read more here.
I love the Internet, even though I have never got into the chat room thing. I know my daily use of the Internet e.g. reading and blogging would get me into serious trouble with the police in that country.

Women, News, Culture, Iran
...
Life for woman in Iran appears to be heading in the direction of the women under the Taliban. Life options for women brought up under Islam are already curtailed in comparison to non Islamic women, but it is simply horrific under the Taliban. The woman of Iran had made some gains when it came to schooling, employment and daily travel. Even with those gains, I could not imagine living in that type of society. The government is cracking down on college education for women, and restricting their entry into medical schools. Just think regardless of your knowledge and talent, you will receive far less consideration, because you are a woman.
The Intelligence Minister feels that woman and student groups are being infiltrated by the enemy in a movement aimed to make the government appear incompetent and turn the citizens against it. So they are telling me and you that in order to stop this movement, they must kill opportunities for women. Read all about it here. I do not know how a woman can stand it under Islamic rule.
