Ed Shultz who has an early prime time program on MSNBC is one of the very few on the liberal left side that has a successful talk radio program. He got into it with Ernest Istook who is now with the Heritage foundation over employers in relation to the health care bill. In this radio face off, Mr. Shultz responded in the way that has become practically the signature of the liberal left. He responded by denying the claims made to him without any evidence for back up. He had no facts and kept telling Mr. Istook he was wrong. Mr. Istook responded with facts which made Mr. Shultz look like he had been devoid of intelligence. See the transcript and get the audio of that talk radio program segment here.
As a critic from the loyal opposition, the only talk radio program on the liberal left side that has my ear on a regular basis is the local Philly urban talk radio station in the morning. Once and a while, I also try to catch Independent Lew Dobbs and Libertarian Neal Boortz who I have warmed up to a little bit. I listen mostly to right wing conservatives. But I listen less these days to the big conservative talkers like Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity. I listen mostly to conservative right wing talkers who have Internet based radio programs such as Rod Eccles, Willie Lawson, Kevin Jackson and Mad Irishman, Sheridan Folger. I also listen to local based talkers that can be heard through streaming like James T. Harris of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
I am now trying to listen to a local based conservative talker Lisa Fritsch out of Austin, Texas when I can get a chance. I first learned about her when she appeared on Glenn Becks's TV program about black conservatives. Ms. Fritsch is on 10:00 a.m. central (for me thats 11:00 a.m.) Monday through Friday for only an hour. From what I have heard so far, she definitely deserves another hour of talk time. I am really enjoying my personal discoveries of conservative radio talkers.
If this was the year 2002, I would be making sure I would get to see Michael Moore's new movie Capitalism: A Love Story. That year I bought his book, Stupid White Men and loved it. I just thought he was so great back then. Boy have times changed!
I see him now on TV and think he is so wrong. He is pretty good at trashing the capitalist system that has made him a nice millionaire. He tries to play down his wealthy status. This socialist would no where near be as wealthy with his craft of book authoring and movie making if he did that in a purely socialist country.
He likes Fidel Castro. I agree with Sean Hannity that if Michael Moore had made a movie trashing Cuba's political/economic system, Castro would have had him shot. Castro had a lot of people tortured and/or shot. Mr. Moore must think his denial of capitalism making him tremendously wealthy in interviews does the trick with the listening/viewing audience. He believes it; so therefore, we must believe it too! NO! Not me!
When it comes to making money, Michael Moore behaved like the capitalist he denies he is with his hiring choices. It is evident he wanted more for less when it came time to hiring people for his working crew. Michael Moore did not hire any union people to work his movie. This working class icon made a point to hire folks that he could pay less. You can read more about that from ABC News and/or the New York Post.
I recommend the book Do As I Say (Not As I Do): Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy by Peter Schweizer. Read about Michael Moore's diva behavior and what he says he doesn't have and doesn't do, against the truth of what he really owns and what he really does. The book also includes the likes of Hilary Clinton, Ralph Nader, Al Franken, Dr. Cornel West and other liberal politicians and personalities.
Note: In 2003 I read Al Franken's Lies and the Lying Liars who Tell Them. This book is sort of in the opposing vain to Peter Schweizer's book. Al Franken went after conservatives. Of course in weighing the two books now, I give the thumbs up to Do as I say and Not as I do.
Listen to Mason Weaver (who will be running for Congress) on the race issue from a Maureen Dowd column and former Pres. Jimmy Carter's comments over Rep. Wilson's, "You lie" outburst. Of course racism still exist and you have to know that valid and invalid racism claims will abound with the first black president. Emotions! Emotions! Emotions! I have heard a few people screaming that the country is more racist than ever. You have to ask how did we get a black man as president then!
What is left of racism in this country, does not have the iota of power that it once had. Who is really held down because of it? Liberal thinkers be forewarned, because Mason Weaver just might set off your blood pressure. I share his mindset.
From last spring, Dr. Ben Carson on his life including his response to racism due to the influence of his mother who only had a 3rd grade education. I remember Dr. Carson telling how his mother required him to read books, do book reports and and give the reports to her. It was years later that he realized that she could barely read them due to her lack of education.
Also read this from Lloyd Marcus. He has something to say to white liberals about their attitudes and behaviors that do not help but hurt blacks. Plus go here where Mr. Marcus deals with the ultimate emotional intimidation. He hits the nail on the head in both columns.
Listen to this Democrat Congresswoman Diane Watson from California. From out of her mouth I hear a voice that has a warm tone and cadence. I also hear profound ignorance. Since I put my identification in Christ above my ethnicity, The "looks like me" statement and the emotion behind it does not have a hold on me as it has on many blacks.
This is an elected offical! And to think there was a time when I would have voted for someone like her! Well, I would have done that when I was young and gullible in the 1970s, but in the 80s from then on as a liberal Democrat, I would not have voted for someone who openly praised Communism. That use to really anger me to see Democrats and liberals being likened to Communists. But now we hear this Democrat and sadly there are more like her (Yes I was in denial about some Democrats being influenced by communism).
Does the Lennin term, Useful Idiots apply? Didn't you just love Rep. Watson's praise of Fidel Castro and the Cuban univeral health care! She praised Communism! Fidel Castro is guilty of taking away rights of Cubans that we take for granted. Read about such things here, here, here and specifically the infamous firing squad.
A Faith Based Prison A Christian faith based prison is awaiting state approval in Wakita, Oklahoma. This prison will house inmates serving their final 12 to 24 months in the system. A church group will be working with them and their families. Inmates will be taught how to become citizens again. Individuals from the church group will continue to mentor inmates in their ex-convict status. Read more here.
The End Benefits For a Man Given Domestic Chores and Activities Growing Up For a long time I worked in the same place with a male who was a part of the custodial department. He said because he cleaned for a living, he did not do housework at home. He had daughters and a son. He always defended not giving his son any way near the amount of household chores that were given to his daughters. I wonder what he would say about this tribute from Charles Martel to being assigned domestic chores and taught domestic activities while growing up!
Thoughts on the Late Ted Kennedy Sen. Kennedy was highly respected by people around me despite Chappaquiddick. One of my late aunts loved the Kennedy family and always thought Ted Kennedy would make a great president. But after Chappaquiddick (which happen a few days after I turned 18) during my Democrat years, Mary Jo Kopechne always came to mind whenever Ted Kennedy came up in the news.
I am seeing far more non tributes to Sen. Ted Kennedy than respectful tributes. Coming from a very wealthy family, Sen. Kennedy never had to worry about money and paying bills. I remember reading an article on his first wife Joan. She said that the Kennedy wealth allowed him to donate his senate salary to charity. Say what you want, you have to admit he was a tireless fighter for liberal causes. A viewer comment read on Bill O'Reilly's program said that he wished there were more conservatives in Congress with the fighting spirit of Sen. Kennedy.
Rifqa Bary Are you continuing to pray for 17 years old Rifqa Bary (She prefers not to use her first name Fathima)? Please keep her in your prayers. Her dependency hearing is on Sept 3rd. She must not be sent home to her father. Please check out the Atlas Shrugs blog for posts dealing with Rifqa Bary like this one.
She is now an apostate to Islam for converting to Christianity. Rifqa Bary says that Jesus Christ is her Savior. The Quran calls for the killing of apostates and she says her father must prove he loves Islam over her. I implore you to email the Florida Governor at charlie.crist@myflorida.com on behalf of Rifqa Bary. She needs to be emancipated from her parents.

I know it's a little early to tell, but the Democrat Party is concerned about the 2010 elections. The health care bill, the town halls and the Democrat Reps. and Senators ducking the town halls are hurting the 2010 Democrat challengers and incumbents. Senate leader and Democrat Harry Reid already looks like a goner in 2010. In my neck of the woods, Sen. Arlen Specter has gone home to the Democrats. It is already looking kind of good at this juncture that his Republican challenger Pat Toomey will be the next Republican senator from PA. Other Republican challengers are feeling kind of good about their prospects.
Republicans are feeling that they could be seeing light at the end of the tunnel. The only thing right now that could dim/extinguish that light is the birthers. I have come to agree with Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly on the birther issue. Birthers are coming off sort of looney and could damage the Republican comeback.
Just think of Pres. Obama having to deal with a Congress like the one Clinton had to deal with in 1994 and for the rest of his 2 termed presidency! Pres. Obama would not be able get another liberal jurist like Sonia Sotomayor on the Supreme Court. Remember Clinton's pick Lani Guinier! If Clinton had the Democrat senate that Pres. Obama currently has, Ms. Guinier would be on the Supreme Court today.
The major November election of 2010 looks like the Democrats' 2006. Remember that is when people reversed the Republican voting trend and went Democrat. The Republicans lost the majority in both houses of Congress. Even if the Republicans don't get control of either house in Congress, just gaining some more Republican representatives and senators can help stall future liberal Democrat and socialist gains. Read more here and even from the liberal Huffington Post here.
