A Peak at the 2010 Congressional Election Outlooks

, , , ...

At the start of 2010, Democrats and Republicans continually experience the ups and downs of politics. It appears at this point that the Democrats are experiencing more downs than ups and vice versa for the Republicans in the congressional races for seats in both houses. One of the early indicators is the money that the two political parties raise for elections.

The hierarchy of the Republican Party realized in late 2007 that Barack Obama was going to be the next President and that the Democrats would increase their majorities in both congressional houses due to the fact that the Democrat where out raising the Republicans by leaps and bounds. Now the Republican hierarchy is experiencing a rise from the current fundraising and it is the opposite for Democrats.

Another indication that the Republican Party is on a rebound is the ever growing list of Democrats dropping out of the congressional races. Many of them were newly recruited by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). Republicans lost 70 seats in the last election. They may regain some of them back. Things are looking rather positive for Republicans in the lower House and a few seats in the Senate. Chances for Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid’s re-election seem to be getting smaller and smaller and the same goes for Banking Committee Chairman Chris Dodd. Read more about the Republican outlook here.

The Tea Party Movement could hurt Republicans if the movement becomes a third political party. It would mostly split Republican/conservative vote in the next presidential election and give Barack Obama a second term. Hopefully, those in the Tea Party Movement will work within the Republican Party to make sure the candidates are conservative.

I know many conservatives felt that John McCain would not have been any better than Pres. Obama so they voted for a third party candidate or stayed home. I wonder what they are thinking now! Will they again in 2012, vote for a third party someone who can't get elected or stay home and let Pres. Obama rack up electoral college votes so he can continue to do what he is doing?

Now I leave you with videos which have been shared by many of my Facebook friends. To me, this kind of a Republican is the future of the Republican Party. Please, folks in Congressional District 22 in Florida, elect Retired Lt. Col. Alan West. I hope he eventually runs for the top office someday.

The first video is Lt. Col. West's interview with Sean Hannity. The second video is his "rockin" speech.

Democrats Going Down

Gary Varvel Cartoon
The Donkey is going to get it anyway. The Donkey is in self a destructing mode. And to think of all the folks that I heard who voted Democrat were feeling victorious and gloating at this time last year! There was a presumption that the Democrats were at the beginning of their infinity. Read about Democrat in house fighting here. Go here to read about a poll on Democrat voters souring on Democrat leadership. Quite interesting, since this poll is coming from NBC which is known as the Obama Network!

Tell It Mr. Harris

, , , ...

From a little segment, here is one of my favorite radio talkers, James T. Harris in action as a guest of Earl Ingram on an urban radio station in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Black conservatives are so perplexing in the black community. Unlike me and other black conservatives who eventually saw the light and switched over later in life, Mr. Harris always was a conservative. He identified with conservative Republican principles growing up in a Democrat household.

Listen to Michele Bachmann

, , , ...

Sarah Palin drives most folks on the left to pure distraction. Michele Bachman who is a conservative Republican and represents the congressional 6th district of Minnesota has her share of growing detractors on the left too! I like Sarah Palin, but Rep. Rep. Bachman rates a little higher with me. Listen to her on a bill by By Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass, 4th congressional district) that is worse than universal health care and Cap and Trade. Rep. Barney Frank's financial services takeover bill is not getting much publicity (and it should).

This bill as law would give the President undo financial decision making. It would go beyond the checks and balances between the legislative and the executive branches of government. It would allow the government the authority to undertake massive takeovers of businesses i.e. the President would have lone authority to decide on spending for bailouts with out congressional approval.

Some pro Obama folks would probably be okay with this bill, but Barack Obama is not going to be president for life. The Democrats will not always be in charge. After all, we do go in cycles with the political parties being in power. To all partisans on all sides of the political kaleidescope think about when your person/party is not in power and the president of the opposing party gets this increased power. This bill should be opposed regardless of political persuasion.

A Little Republican Party Heritage Quiz and Other Interesting Facts.

, , , ...

Linking over to here, which is the Grand O Partisan website of Michael Zak, so you can take a short quiz on Republican heritage. After you take the quiz go to another post on the website to read about Robert Terrell who was appointed by and served under two Republican Presidents in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Then from the same website go here to read about the Democrats enacting the black codes in 1865 which did not allow blacks to vote, serve on a jury and travel without permission just to name a few.

Folks are quick to point to Republicans for being a racist party, but fail to do any checking on the Democrat Party in their historical contributions to racism. I have gone back and forth in chatrooms and other kinds of online forums about the past behaviors of both political parties when it comes to black people. Many blacks just put up some enormous mental blocking object when it comes to facing the Democrat Party's racist past. See one of my previous posts that featured a video on this subject.

Democrat Party Support for Abortion

, , , ...

Being a Fox Newser, I tend to only catch Keith Olbermann's "Worst Person in the World" segment at one its rerun times every so often. I find it to be comedic entertainment. Last night, I caught MSNBC program from the beginning. First thing, he went into diatribe against Rep. Bart Stupak.

Rep. Stupak is a Democrat against abortion and was able to get an amendment against any federal funding abortion on demand in the House version of the health care bill(some say it will be gone in the Senate version of the bill). Mr. Olbermann proudly boasts of the legality of abortion i.e. infanticide i.e. baby killing and that it is officially supported in the Democrat platform.

Mr. Olbermann putting his finger on the print-out of the Democrat Party Platform where it says they support the abortion decision of "Roe vs Wade" should make anti abortion Democrats cringe and convicted. I know was spiritually convicted during my years as a Democrat over the topic of Democrat support for infanticide came up.

NOTE: It is no secrete that there are some Republicans that are okay with infanticide and call themselves pro-choice, but the Republican Party officially takes the stand against abortion, while the Democrat Party's official stand support abortion on demand.

It's election day all across the country. In my neck of woods, the election is not considered a major one. I am voting for judges, tax collector, borough mayor, school board members and local etc. Regardless of political party and who and what is at stake, every registered voter should be doing their civic duty by casting their vote. Non voting excuses are not acceptable. Please get to your polling place and vote.

The governor's race in New Jersey and Virgina are in the national spotlight do to possible Republican victories. New Jersey Incumbent Governor Jon S. Corzine could lose to Republican challenger Chris Christie, but it is being reported that Pres. Obama's last minute campaigning for Gov. Corzine has given him a few percentage points over Mr. Christie in a few polls. Other poll have them neck in neck. Third party candidate Chris Daggett is proving to be thorn in both the sides of Gov. Corzine and Chris Christie. In Virgina Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell has kept a double digit lead in the polls over his Democrat opponent R. Creigh Deeds for some time.

Also in the national spotlight is the congressional race where the Republican candidate Dierdre Scozzafava has been deemed a rhino Republican who is even to the left of some Democrats has bowed out of the election just a couple of day ago and endorsed the Democrat candidate Bill Owens. She had received endorsements from Republican notables such as Newt Gingrich. 3rd party candidate Doug Hoffman who is very conservative received endorsements from notable Republicans such as Fred Thompson and Sarah Palin.

Eyes are upon this race to see if there will be a third party victory. Republicans already got served in the 2006 and the 2008 elections with a national Democrat Victory and now they may get served albeit a smaller serving, but nevertheless a stinging victory from the rejected conservative Doug Hoffman, because he is leading in the polls.

A Democrat's Death Panel Confession!

, , , ...

Remember the recent controversy over Sarah Palin's "Death Panels" branding of the "End of Life" counseling provision in relation to the health care bill? Remember Rep. Alan Grayson saying that "Republicans want you to die quickly?" Listen to former Clinton Labor Secretary Robert Reich in 2007 addressing an audience of UC Berkeley college students. Pay close attention to what he said about health care and the elderly.

Mr. Reich is currently an economic advisor to Pres. Obama. Isn't this more of an indication of this Democrat Administration being okay with death panels and quick deaths? Now the "End of Life" counseling provision was reportedly dumped in the Senate version of the health care bill, but will it be in the final version masked as something else?
