Republican Leaders' Imput and Impact on the Health Care Reform Bill

With all the uproar over Pres. Obama’s health care bill, there are supporters looking at the Republicans as complainers and troublemakers. I have heard folks on the Obama side say that health care is an important issue that Republicans ignore and that at least the President is trying to do something about it. Well the Republican congressional leaders are opposed to the Obama health care bill, but they are not just complaining. They have come up with their own version. Take a look (in pdf). It is about putting patients first. The house version of the health care bill is in the Senate and will not be voted on until the fall. It has already gone under the knife and the latest provision in the bill to go is the so called death panels. This "end-of-life care" allowed for Medicare reimbursements to doctors for voluntary counseling sessions about end-of-life decisions. republican critics especially the prominent ones such as former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin are instrumental to the demise of this particular provision.
