My Savior and Why Islam?

When you have Christ as Savior, you know where you will spend eternity. I know if I were to die later in this day such as by getting hit and killed by a car, or be murdered by a mentally unbalanced person, I would be with the Lord. So if someone asked, “are you saved?” You are being asked are your sins covered through Jesus Christ. It’s not how well we lived our lives. It is not based on whether the good outweighs the bad – Ephesians 2:9. The bottom line – it is all based on admitting that you are a sinner (none of us are perfect); acknowledging that Jesus is the Savior and asking him to save you.
Well that was to let you know where I come from. So I can not understand why Islam is attracting so many people. Many Black families today have at least an immediate family member or a close relative (not to mention entire family units) converted to Islam. I can say Islam has not infiltrated my immediate family or any close relatives. I have seen co-workers and acquaintances convert and become Muslims. Why are so many blacks drawn to Islam? One former co-worker was attracted to Louis Farrakhan whom I think is crazy. She is now a Muslim. For some it’s a skin color race thing. The white man used Jesus and Christianity to keep people of color in oppression. Some cannot relate to Jesus and other Biblical persons constantly portrayed as white. Some see it as the ancestral spiritual heritage of black people ripped away when they were shipped to the states as slaves. Islam is supposed to empower the black person continually kept down by white Christianity.
From what I see, Christians have the Savior Jesus – The Son of God. Muslims have the prophet Mohammed whom has done nothing for them eternally. If you believe your faith and good works are apart of your salvation then you are in agreement with Islam. See in the Koran, Sura 14:23. With Christianity, you are saved through the grace of God through faith – Ephesians 2:8, 9. Your good works are the result of your salvation not the basis – Ephesians 2:10.
The condoning of mistreatment of women in Islam disturbs me. I wonder how a woman in this country can convert to Islam. In the Hadith (oral traditions from the prophet Muhammad) Volume 3, Chapter 12, The Witness of Women and the Statement Allah, #826: Page 502 states:
“…The Prophet said, “Isn’t the witness of a women equal to half of that
to a man? The woman said, “Yes.” He said, “This is because of the
deficiency of a woman’s mind.”
This concept applies today in many middle eastern courts of law. Then in the Koran there is Nisa 4: 34:
"Men are guardians of women because God has favored some more than others[/b]
and because they spend out of their wealth. Righteous women are devoted and to guard
what God has guarded even though out of sight. As for those on whose part you fear
ill-will and nasty conduct, admonish them, leave them alone in beds beat or separate
them. But if they obey you, then seek nothing against them. Behold, God is most high
and great.”
Now in the Old Testament in the Bible, Men had more than one wife and concubines. God allowed it but did not condone it, and that was not the time of Christianity. With the Christian foundation established through Christ Jesus, it is clear in the New Testament for the Christian that monogamy is the Godly way – I Corinthians 7:1-2:
“Nevertheless because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife[/b]
and let each woman have her own husband."
Also Ephesians 5:31:
“For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his[/b]
wife and the two shall become one flesh.”
I have seen a Muslim man walking down a street with two Muslim women walking behind him. At the time I did not think much of it. Now I am quite sure they were his two wives. We hear much about renegade Mormons that still practice polygamy, but nothing about American Muslims involved in this practice. A Christian woman whom is a missionary to American Muslims was raised in a American Black Muslim home. She told us in Sunday School Class that before she was able to reject and run away from Islam as an adult, her mother was grooming her to be a third wife to a Muslim man. Read more on non Mormon polygamy in the USA.
Finally there is the slavery issue. Many blacks have gone to Islam because, they believe it is their true religion ripped away from them during slavery. American black slavery was horrible, but it is long gone. Not so today in Islamic countries where slavery is still up and running normal. Arabs are still enslaving people in the Sudan forcing them into Islam. Slavery is accepted in Islamic cultures.
For more information on Christianity vs Islam read Race, Religion & Racism Volume 3 by Frederick K.C. Price, D. D.
I just do not understand how American women can become Muslim converts and accept the Muslim practices of polygamy. The Koran and the Hadith's validates women as deficient thinkers and condones wife beating. I also cannot understand how blacks whom denounce the enslavement of our ancestors can be part of a faith that condones and practices slavery in today’s world.
If this has you thinking about a better life through Jesus with eternal salvation, I leave you with this to read.[/FONT]
