BET Awards and Channel Surfing

I turned on the BET Awards instead of watching my usual first time showing of Law and Order: Criminal Intent. Bad decision. I could only take but so much so I went into channel surfing mode, returning every now and then. Jamie Fox as the host was on the disgusting side. The Michael music performers, the O'Jays, and Mary Mary were the only decent musical highlights of the show. Due to my channel surfing I did not catch the entire performances of all those decent musical performances in their entirety.What I saw of the hip hop rappers was disgusting. Unfortunately, I did catch a peak of the performance where folks (did not know who they were) carried on about doing it to all the females in this world while minor females danced and jiggled on stage with them. Some of those girls looked to be around 14. How could their families allow them to be a part of something like that?
I commented on a few Facebook pages that brought up the subject of the BET Awards. One of my debates came down to me being from a different time with my music tastes and that is true. One FB person who identified himself as a libertarian thought the program was fine and said he did not care about the minor aged girls. How could anyone who has children think like that.
Now what does that indicate about the state we are in as a society? Many discontented conservatives and/or Republicans have crossed over to the libertarian side. I can't do that, because of the "me first" aspect of libertarianism which allows for some detrimental behavior (like recreational drugs).
