It's election day all across the country. In my neck of woods, the election is not considered a major one. I am voting for judges, tax collector, borough mayor, school board members and local etc. Regardless of political party and who and what is at stake, every registered voter should be doing their civic duty by casting their vote. Non voting excuses are not acceptable. Please get to your polling place and vote.
The governor's race in New Jersey and Virgina are in the national spotlight do to possible Republican victories. New Jersey Incumbent Governor Jon S. Corzine could lose to Republican challenger Chris Christie, but it is being reported that Pres. Obama's last minute campaigning for Gov. Corzine has given him a few percentage points over Mr. Christie in a few polls. Other poll have them neck in neck.
Third party candidate Chris Daggett is proving to be thorn in both the sides of Gov. Corzine and Chris Christie. In Virgina Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell has kept a double digit lead in the polls over his Democrat opponent R. Creigh Deeds for some time.
Also in the national spotlight is the congressional race where the Republican candidate Dierdre Scozzafava has been deemed a rhino Republican who is even to the left of some Democrats has bowed out of the election just a couple of day ago and endorsed the Democrat candidate Bill Owens. She had received endorsements from Republican notables such as Newt Gingrich. 3rd party candidate Doug Hoffman who is very conservative received endorsements from notable Republicans such as Fred Thompson and Sarah Palin. Eyes are upon this race to see if there will be a third party victory. Republicans already got served in the 2006 and the 2008 elections with a national Democrat Victory and now they may get served albeit a smaller serving, but nevertheless a stinging victory from the rejected conservative Doug Hoffman, because he is leading in the polls.
