Well hello, I'm new.

Well it's definitely been awhile since my last blog post, at this time it's not really like I have any regular readers, so unless your hyper observant about post dates you probably didn't even notice, so me pointing it out just made myself look a little duller... SURPRISE!

Why I am terrified of most cattipillers

For years now I have been quite terrified of certain caterpillars, mostly, any caterpillar that isn't fuzzy. I didn't understand why considering that most (all of them that I know of) are completely harmless to me. But then I recently ran across an article about caterpillars making hissing noises to ward off birds. Then, I remembered...

Adds have finally done it

All of this time, I have frowned upon ad block, but they just keep getting worse and worse! I mean, an add on the side was one thing, a flash add I was fine with, I could deal with some talking ads, although I found these to be anoying. I knew it was so that web sites could make some extra cash to keep going. But it didn't stop, they kept making them worse! It is so frustrating when I'm trying to watch a video and an add on someother tab is blaring an annoying ad! Sometimes you can't even see them, and you don't know what tab it is on, because your sound was muted... Then there is when you visit a site that has information you need, and there is this huge scroll over add that goes all kung-fu full screen on you, or talks when your trying to think and listen to music. Those mouse over ads that look like links are not that bad, but do they have to be everwhere?

I can stand youtube ads, I can stand google ads, I can stand an add that says "DOWNLOAD FREE" on a download page (even if it is anoying) but what the **** is with these other ads, that are turning the internet into a living hell?

So, here is how it is, I have installed adblock, and it is set to allow google adds and block the rest. That is how it is, All other ads can kiss my ass.

Once again, the internet is how it should be!

Apps crashing, windows giving BSOD, maybe its a RAM issue?

Well up until the other day, I considered apps crashing and windows rearing the BSOD to be caused by viruses or damaged software, and in rare cases failing hardware, not really apps crashing though as I had never experienced an issue were apps crashing due to faulty hardware was true. Until the other day, I upgraded my DELL INSPIRON N5050 to 8GB of DDR3 memory and to a 64GB corsair Solid State drive, then removed my 500GB HDD and swapped it with my external 160GB HDD.

Writing an app for iOS 5 with linux

Hey guys, Today I'm going yo put down some of my recent doings for future reference, We are going to start iOS deving from Ubuntu Linux, were not going to do anything fancy (yet) what were going to do is play with a terminal emulator on iOS, after all iOS is actually UNIX, it uses the Darwin kernel just like Mac-OSX. Of course to do this were going to need to jail brake our ipod/iphone, I used redsn0w from my parents mac to do this, you can find tuts everywere on how to jail break. It is a no brainier really!

Now with our jailbroken iPod we can begin installing the things we need. On your iPod open Cydia (redsn0w should have installed it). once it is done loading use the search tab and search iSSH, this will install full SSH support on your iPod, so that you can access its data. This is how we are going to transfer our data to the iPod touch. Now, what we are going to do is install a terminal clone, first we must add a respiratory to cydia so we can get our proper deb package.

Merry Christmas!

Hello guys!

I created this little zip of stuff originally for the dude bros at osdev.org, but decided to mirror here on my Opera blog!

Anyway, they have a flexible license I hope you all enjoy bigsmile

Please read the readme for more info on the demos, they are, pretty well commented, written in pure assembly, and all fit on a boot sector smile

PS: some may be crude implementations, but all work under QEmu and are good examples for those who like working examples!

So I broke down and bought a xbox 360

I've been a SONY fan ever since Nintendo failed me, after they made there crappy DS light and pii wii. PS3, PSP, and awaiting the Vita. But I wanted to play with all my freinds, so when I saw Target was selling the xbox 360 4GB on the black Friday weekend sale for only $139, I decided to go and get one. Not a bad consel really, but I feel it is really lazy... I mean how long did it take them to "fix" the red ring of death? AND add wifi support?

RIP Dennis Ritchie, creator of the C programming language and co-creater of UNIX...

As I found out yesterday morning Denis Richie, the man who brought us C and helped bring us UNIX has passed away a few days ago from a terrible illness, let us pause in a moment of silence for a man who had a huge impact on our lives....... It is sad when Such a giant falls and I have to find out on message boards many days latter, while as when a celebratory does so much as stub there toe it's all over the news.

More on the bad news: http://www2.alcatel-lucent.com/blogs/corporate/2011/10/dennis-ritchie-1941-2011-message-from-jeong-kim/

The speed of light

According to yahoo! news scientists have now done what was "impossible", move a particle faster then the speed of light.

http://news.yahoo.com/particles-recorded-moving-faster-light-cern-164441657.html

Of course assuming there is no miscalculations, this means that Einstein's theory that mass moving faster then the speed of light is impossible, was incorrect... Does this mean that we might see a warp drive in the futer?

Well... Here we are.

Well here we are on the opposite sides of the table, I've decided to write a blog, and you've decided to read it. I've often considered writing one, but never truly persuade it, as time has went on, I have often looked back and wished I would've. So, this blog will just house a few things from my thought's, assuming of course, this isn't the first, and only post I ever make. So I'll just put a little about me:

I am an 18 year old male from Southern Ohio, I'm mostly the nerd/geek type, I spend most my free time in my room playing minecraft, Final Fantasy, Other classic RPGs, writing my own code, and playing with other peoples creations. When it comes to cars I prefer small 4cylender cars with manual transmissions, Being smaller makes them easier to navigate and park in tighter places as well as being generally better with mpg. My favorite music genre is classic rock even though it isn't your stereotype nerd, to add some nerd points, I am also a huge sci-fi nut, I often watch good sci-fi like Star Trek and FarScape.
