The first digital download I ever bought was the single Catalyst by Oceansize. This was in 2004.

To pay for the track, I had to send an SMS to a premium rate number which prompted me to receive a unique code to input into the band's website. They were way ahead of the game.

Too far.

I remember a similar service in Norway called SMSMP3. I think i bought my first album there back in 2003. Sadly, the site was never supported by Norwegian record labels, only a select few artists. So the site never became any large success.
