nikon, mullet, sale, d70
...

Tomorrow morning I'm going to go and get my hair cut. I want it to look something like the above... basically, a bit of a mullet - but not so extreme - without shaved sides.
Oh, and I bought a Nikon D90 today. This means that if you want to buy a second-hand Nikon D70 (body only) from me, let me know. £150 ono.

nikon, gamestyle, speedlight, jizzlefizzle
...
w00t! I got paid yesterday and so the first thing I did was get online and buy myself the Nikon SB-800 Speedlight
that I was rambling on about in an earlier blog post.
Since the Royal Mail are on strike, or so I heard, I expected to receive the flash on Friday or Saturday - but to my surprise, it was delivered this morning. Since I've left the house I've been carrying the instruction manual around with me, intending to read it; but I know I'm just going to wait until I get home, put the instructions to one side and experiment.
I'm glad I've got the flash now; there's plenty of time to learn how to use it before Jizzlefizzle - which was meant to have been this weekend, but has been put back to August 18th. I'm gutted I don't get to see some great bands sooner, but I'm sure it'll be worth the wait. *excited*
This weekend, Vikki and I are still going to take a trip to Frodsham regardless; there's a big hillside that I have always wanted to explore - so we'll be doing that. Apparently there's a fortress up there and everything! I'll take pictures.
In terms of the wonderful world of the internet, Gamestyle has just recently started a podcast. It's pilot is up online and you can get it by subscribing using iTunes or using the generic RSS link.

hi-definition, children of men, nikon, speedlight
...
I've made my choice. I thought long and hard, did a little research and have gone and bought the Xbox 360 HD DVD Player
. No BluRay in my household; HD-DVD ftw!
So, tomorrow I'll be looking forward to receiving this, Express Delivery, accompanied by Children Of Men
- all because I was in the mood for spending some money. It was either that, or a Nikon SB-800 Speedlight
(which no doubt I'll end up buying when I get paid).
As I explained in my last blog post 07/07/07, I was set to go and see Encyclopedia play in Leeds. I got there alright, met up with Amanda and went onto the venue (which was a really cool place). We managed to catch the end of the first support act, then Gavin Osborn and then the new fresh line-up of Encyclopedia.
I didn't get to stick around to see headliners Tellison, which was a shame, but Encyclopedia were fucking great and Gavin Osborn was good too - I ended up buying his CD the next day. Here's a free track for your ears to sample, hosted on senduit.com (link expires 27th July 2007)
Over recent weeks, when I'm not in work, time seems to go really fast - which is a bad thing. I don't seem to have time to do all the things I want to, and my free time dissolves quickly and I'm left standing there wondering where it all went - and why it feels like I'm always in work. What's going on?
I reckon I just need to get out more; get back into photography (because even flickr shows I've been slack as of late - no new photos this month), go to more gigs and social events. Maybe I should've bought the Nikon SB-800 Speedlight
instead of the HD-DVD player. Hehe.
Thanks to everyone who still reads my blog; leave me a comment please - let me know what you thought of the free mp3 (link expires 27th July 2007), at least.

night & day cafe, the national trust, meet, dinner
...
I don't know what it was about how my blog looked, but it wasn't quite right. I wasn't digging it or feeling the Opera Community vibe. I've given in to the stylish
Fred and used one of his new pre-made themes until I can be bothered getting my act together and creating a custom skin for my blog. If you're reading this post in an RSS reader, please
click through and see what it looks like.
I've heard that some of you are wondering what the hell I'm doing job-wise at the minute, and the news is that there is no news. I really do need a job, I need an income but am doing alright for the time being. The past week or so has actually been great, what with having such lovely weather - I've had the chance to enjoy the sunshine instead of being stuck in an office like many friends have.

Vikki and I took advantage of the weather and our time off and went to
Dunham Massey. For those that aren't familiar with the place, Dunham Massey is a large country estate, including a mansion with impressive gardens and a deer park, which is now owned by conservation organisation
The National Trust.
We spent the whole day there, walking around the mansion, gardens and deer park, and the journey home resulted in me buying a new lens for my camera. I wanted something with a little more distance than my original lens, so am now the proud owner of a 55-200mm Nikkor lens. I've had the chance to play about with it since and grabbed a few interesting shots.

Yesterday I went to another Flickr Meet-Up. The last one was really fun and I met some great people; this time a few of us met for a
pre-meet dinner at Night & Day Cafe and then went onto the main
Flickr Meet VI event.
There were plenty of new faces as about 26 people in total turned up. It was a good laugh and quite eventful; photo taking, social drinking, photography 'games' and members of our group being attacked by a random guy - the
police sorted him out though. I'm already looking forward to the next meet-up.
