packaging, sampler, music, compilation
...

OMG, this is one of the coolest things I have seen not just today, but possibly this whole year. This is Alcopopular 3.
Indie record label Alcopop Records are known for a number of things, including the release of their sampler albums in non-standard formats; first it was a 3" CD, second it was a cassette tape and third is a bottle and treasure map!
There's not much else to say about this; it's just so fucking awesome! Look at the picture! It's a treasure map in a bottle that delivers the following musical goodness:
- Tellison - Wasp's Nest
- Apples - Theo
- David Gibb - The Oxfordshire Brigade
- Stars and Sons - In The Ocen (piano version)
- Town Bike - Cock Muff Bum Hole
- Pulled Apart By Horses - E=MC Hammer
- Stagecoach - We Got Tazers
- Paul Steel - Psychedelia Smith
- Unicorn Kid - Nuts n' Milk
- Arrows Of Love - Prescriptions
- Ice King of California - I Wouldn't Want To Do That All
- The October Game - Cast These Waves
- The Computers - Track Four
If you want to bag yourselves one of these, you can buy one for just five pounds from the Alcopop Store. Do it. Buy more than one and give it your friends - it's the perfect birthday / wedding / christening / divorce / funeral present - bound to cheer anyone up!

chommie, haircut, stuffed toys, hair
...

I really want to post about my Christmas, New Year, my trips to Leeds and to Worcester and so many more exciting things that happened in my life over the Christmas period - more for my own benefit than anyone's - but I guess I'll do that later. Right now I have have up-to-date stuff to report on, like my hair!
When I had shorter hair, I used to go to my local barber shop to have it cut. He's called Deano and I'm guessing that the majority of his customers all have relatively short hair and that it's become a niche for him as when I walked in after a bout of 'letting my hair grow long' (aka laziness), he recommended I start going to a salon if I want to keep my hair that long. So I did.
After a few more haircuts at salons, I wasn't convinced that Deano was worse than these 'professionals' and that he could cut hair with the best of them. Also, he reminds me of Zohan - but without the sex.
So, today I went into Urmston and had Deano cut my hair. He looked quite worried and had commented on how long it was amid being surprised to hear that I wanted to keep it long. It was all good though - he cut it, and I've had far worse from one of the salons I visited. Hurrah! Success!

Whilst I was in Urmston I went to the post office to pick up a delivery from South Africa. It's from MaxNormal.TV and is Emily's CHOMMIE toys that I posted about the other week.
I was quite excited to receive them and couldn't wait to open the box - I'm refraining from opening the little purple packets until later tonight when I'm with Emily. In the meantime, I've been listening to his CD 'Good Morning South Africa'
Today feels like a Saturday. It's Friday.
