Ratchet Screwdriver & the Postman's knock

Because this is what summer is all about, right?

Trans Pennine Trail

, , , ...

Last night was a really nice evening so, instead of hanging around the house and playing games all night, I decided to take my camera onto Urmston Meadows and along the Trans Pennine Trail.

It was really quiet - there weren't too many people around last night. I must've walked from around 7pm to 10.30pm. With it being summer, the nights stay light until late, and it's great for taking a stroll.

You can see some photos in the 'Trans Pennine Trail' photo album. I can't say there's anything particularly interesting in there, unless you're into long grass, close-ups of plants and insects fornicating.

Summer House

, , , ...

Stockholm-based Sommarnöjen has unveiled designs for five new 160 sq-foot second houses that are mostly beautiful looking structures. I'd love to own a sweet little place like this that I could just drift off to whenever I wanted, or to even live in permanently. Mm.

The designs for Sommarnöjen houses come from Sweden's top-tier architectural offices Kjellander + Sjöberg Arkitektkontor, Sandellsandberg Arkitekter and Tham & Videgård Hansson Arkitekter.

Maybe... one day.

Today is my Summer

, , , ...

I'm out in the garden, in the (really hot!) sun with Vikki and Hannah. Opera Mini ftw! My mum and dad are back from Ireland for the week, so they're milling around too.

Later on tonight, Luke Leighfield is playing my hometown with Tim and Sam's Tim and Sam Band with Tim and Sam, so we'll probably trott along to that.

Today is my summer.

Hot Summer

, , , ...

Wow. It's absolutely boiling hot today. For a detailed weather report, I usually check Yahoo! Weather - however, Netvibes' weather module tells me that there's a low of 15°C and a high of 28°C / 82°F, and out the window, it should look something like this:

It's kinda right; except there's no rain at the minute.

So, there's not much to report, really. I guess I could tell you that I spent nearly all weekend playing Pro Evolution Soccer 4 on the Xbox and lying in bed with the girlfriend. Or that I went to BBC Blast Festival (click for photos) and another gig on Friday (more photos)...

Ah, yeah, that's a good point; I'm going to leave you to check out The Answering Machine (myspace | lastfm) and The Maple State (myspace | lastfm). They both played at The Music Box on friday night and were wicked.

Go easy. Drink fluids. Keep it cotton.
