New Stuff

Karl Addison (partybots) Sticker

Over the past week, I got a bunch of new stuff and I'd like to share it with you - starting with geeky tech stuff. Today I updated to Ubuntu 9.04 - the Jaunty Jackalope - on my desktop machine and also updated a bunch of stuff on Crunchbang Linux, including customising Conky. My desktop now looks like the picture on the left. The one on the right is how it used to look:

In terms of more personal stuff; I got a new haircut, two new t-shirts, a new hoodie and a watch. The watch is from Rendell and is the Casio from my birthday wishlist. The hoodie has pink flamingos on it and one of the t-shirts has ghosts on it; these are from Karl Addison of Partybots and I'm well-impressed with them.

The other t-shirt is from Threadless, via Maria Hammond, and has a cat shooting laserbeams out of it's eyes! I can't tell you how amazing that is; which is why there's a picture for your own amusement. This is the same picture I have a new haircut in. I'm going to look so slick for when I go to Oslo, Norway on Friday.

New Kicks.

It's been absolutely ages since I owned a pair of trainers. I didn't realise it - but I've mostly worn boots for the past year or so; and probably a pair of pumps too. No proper sneakers or skate shoes though. Until today.

I was jealous of all Rendell's sweet trainers, so took a leaf out of her book and bought some Supra Footwear. The trainers pictured above now belong to me, thanks to Note Manchester. Sweet.

Today, a lady in the Co-Operative told me that I looked like "someone from Camp Rock". I had no idea what this was, and so thanked her for the complement. It was only when I got home that I searched the web and found that Camp Rock is a Disney show starring The Jonas Brothers.

To be fair, I probably did look like I could fit in with the cast of that show. I swear it was the new trainers though - I bet if I were wearing the boots, I'd still have resembled the 'hobo' that I so often get called.

Rendell, Moving In

Kicks

On Friday, my friend (and Opera Community member) Rendell officially moved into the house where I currently reside, which was once 'mine' but now is 'ours'.

Aside from living with family, of which I count ex-girlfriends, I've never had to really live with anyone else - this will be the first time that I've had a housemate who isn't related to me, or that I'm sleeping with... and I like that.

I'd been looking forward to her moving in all week, and now that she's here, it's good to have someone round. I'm a sociable person and don't think I was coping too well being on my own in a big ol' house. Problem solved.

Rendell's Desk at Work

My friend Victoria Rendell has started blogging on Opera Community! Huzzah! This is a second friend in recent weeks to start using Opera Community.

Rendell has had an account for a while with the intent of posting insulting comments on my blog posts with the luxury of having her sexy face next to her rude words, but now you can see her sexy face on blog posts of her own and read my insulting comments. Oh how the tables have turned.

If you haven't already, check out her blog and leave some nice comments. Don't forget about millymoogle though, who also updated her blog today.

Storm Trooper Gang Signs

Over the past few days I've had far too little sleep and done loads of stuff - but still, not enough. It's been good, I've enjoyed it. I need to write this stuff down, starting with Friday night.

Friday 20th December, after work, Victoria Rendell and I went to the Trafford Centre to do some Christmas shopping. Basically, I rocked at Christmas shopping this year and Rendell sucked at it - where I left the Trafford Centre with friends ticked off the shopping list and some kick-ass presents and Rendell had fallen into the trap of self-indulgence and just bought herself stuff.

Good on her though, buying stuff for yourself is great - especially clothes. You do feel a bit bad later on when you have to give a gift to someone and they're left empty-handed, but then you turn around and look at all your swish clothes and you feel a bit better again. Score.

It was fun though, I like spending time with Rendell. I don't do it enough. Accompanying this blog post is a picture of me wearing a Storm Trooper helmet in department store Debenhams - enjoy.

Good Weekend.

Friday; resigned from work, Vikki signed papers for new house.

Saturday; quality Flickr meet, failed in going house party, uploaded finds to Flickr instead.

Sunday; dinner at Trof with Tom Finch, Grown At Home gig with Rendell and Kelly.

Post About Tonight

, , , ...

Well, tonight I met up with Victoria Rendell (who I haven't seen in far too long) and we trotted along to Satan's Hollow in town to see a band called RX Bandits.

Rendell is a friend from my college days; so it was good to meet up, because we hadn't met up in quite a while. Not that we got too much of a chance to talk - what with loud music and all.

Anywho; I took my camera along and grabbed a few shots. I've uploaded them to flickr because now I'm using flock, it's so much easier and quicker to upload shots to there, than Opera Community. I'll upload shots to my blog over the coming days.

Meanwhile, here they are elsewhere:
