Summer House

, , , , , , ,

Stockholm-based Sommarnöjen has unveiled designs for five new 160 sq-foot second houses that are mostly beautiful looking structures. I'd love to own a sweet little place like this that I could just drift off to whenever I wanted, or to even live in permanently. Mm.

The designs for Sommarnöjen houses come from Sweden's top-tier architectural offices Kjellander + Sjöberg Arkitektkontor, Sandellsandberg Arkitekter and Tham & Videgård Hansson Arkitekter.

Maybe... one day.

Sweet. Did they mention any price for those boxes?

Matt Cox 27. May 2009, 11:00

I can't see a price anywhere. Maybe it's best I don't find out - it may shatter my dreams. :D

Robert Jacobsen 27. May 2009, 11:10

Haha, true. But then, you get more in Sweden for the same amount of money than you get in Norway. However, since the cabins are marked with "designer product" all over them, I wouldn't be surprised if the price would be higher than it should be.

nice looking house

There's even room for a 3m satellite dish on the roof =o}

Matt Cox 27. May 2009, 15:49

53north, if I lived in one of those spaces, I wouldn't want / need a satellite dish. :D

In fact, my tv ariel at home is unplugged and hasn't had signal in ages. TV is teh suck.

Robert Jacobsen 27. May 2009, 15:57

You'd want a satellite dish to get the best possible signal for your Internet connection though.

Damn you, amith. I think you'd be right.

Robert Jacobsen 27. May 2009, 17:06

Who's this amith? :O

steven 27. May 2009, 18:05

...nobody robbing such isolated houses ?
then: the policy in nortern countries is: don't touch a car
That means prices are huge and probably there are other taxes too
how would you go to your home then ?
may be if they are built along the train rails

Matt Cox 27. May 2009, 22:39

amnith It's your dyslexic brother. P:

ste-ven I guess if I lived in one of these houses in the middle of knowhere, I'd own a bike, maybe a moped and use that to get around.

Alternatively, I'd just become a hermit and live of berries and wild animals that I find in the nearby area. Yum!

Robert Jacobsen 27. May 2009, 22:50

Why use Ask for defining a hermit and not Wiktionary?

Matt Cox 27. May 2009, 23:22

I don't know why, but I'm not a fan of Wikitionary... that said, I'm not a fan of Ask either - but I'm giving it a try.

I'd probably have linked to dictionary.com for definitions - but that's owned by IAC Search & Media too.

Robert Jacobsen 27. May 2009, 23:35

I have a custom search for Wiktionary, so I just wt word, mark the url and smack it in. Easy as pie.

Matt Cox 27. May 2009, 23:50

I have a system whereby I double-click a word (which selects it and brings up Opera's context menu) and then clicking 'Dictionary'. P:

Robert Jacobsen 28. May 2009, 00:27

That works too, but sending it to Ask just doesn't seem right. There should be better dictionaries out there.
