A Weekend in Bransford / Worcester

, ,

It's been absolutely ages since I've seen Hannah Eacock - a whole five and a bit months - the last time I got to see her was between Christmas 2008 and New Year. To be honest, the five months had gone relatively quick with each week promising that the time would come where one visits the other. 'Soon' wasn't soon enough, but evidently better than never.

Friday night I left work as early as possible and hopped on the train down from Manchester to Great Malvern (via Birmingham NS); the weather was set to be good for the whole weekend and I was undoubtedly more nervous to be visiting Hannah than I was excited - yet both helped the anticipation build over the following three hour train journey.

Arriving at Great Malvern, Hannah came to meet me on the platform at the train station and I was so unbelievably pleased to see her, overjoyed and instantly regretted not making the journey sooner. Time just seems to slip away, if you let it.

Friday night was largely uneventful after that, but the atmosphere of the area combined with the fact that Hannah and the rest of her family are so welcoming to me, makes me feel like it's a home away from home. After getting some food and watching some TV, we went to bed.

Saturday was an amazing day where Hannah and I got to spend the day on our own; the original plan was that we were to go up to Malvern Hills and get lost together. This never happened, but we did go up to the river instead and spent some time there; paddling in the water, skimming stones, having a picnic and having plenty of time to talk. Later that evening, her Nan picked us up, we visited her Auntie and then stayed over in Worcester.

Sunday, being today, was exciting for me because I knew I was going to get to ride a horse. After hanging around at Han's Nan's for a while, we headed down to the stables and stayed there for a while; there's dogs, chickens, kittens (cute!), a baby rabbit (v. cute!) and all manner of interesting stuff there.

Honestly, from the short amount of time we spent there, I judge that I could stay there for many more weeks or months and be entertained - there was so much to see, and so much I wanted to look at and do - I think I need to live on a farm.

Well, the weekend is over now and I'm sat on the train on the way home writing this; Worcester to Hereford to Manchester - three hours. I'm already looking forward to going back to see Hannah and her family.

*sigh*
