Round 2 - Open, Large Prints

Tuesday night was the second round of the NIPA inter-club competition. This round was open themed but entrants were allowed to make use o f images and mounts up to 50cm*40cm.

The larger permitted image size led to a number of excellent and inspiring prints to be entered.

Judging duties were performed by Newtownards own Leslie Armour . Leslies judging was excellent, with time given to each print and valuable feedback provided for all levels of photographer.

Leslie spent time talking about the importance of having good ranges of tone and texture within images. He also give good advice about the 3 chances a photographer gets to get the shot right - Capture, Post processing and mounting - reminding the club that a well mounted shot goes a long way towards helping an image really shine.
