Still WOT smile

, , , , , ,

Hey,

There's some fresh meat (vegetables if you're vegetarian) for you smile
A(nother) new version of the User Javascript WOT.

This one is quite stylish.

You can thank QuHno for the design. He also gave me useful advises, especially for the updater. Without him, it would still be using cookies.

You also can thank Nickko, an Opera user who is also a great usability expert. He helps me a lot by giving me usability advises ninja

Regarding what's new :
  • Faster (especially DOM queries reduce to a minimum)
  • Sexy (come on, look at the design bigsmile)
  • No more cookies \o/
  • And I Guess that's enough

A few screenshots :

You can download it here, or here, or use the updater ninja

As usual, I you have any issues with this version, just say so in this thread smile

New major version of WOT for Opera : you can vote !WOT for Opera : introducing persistent storage

Can you replace the icons with buttons? Makes it easier.
Please also expand the warning information.

Other than that http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/ThumbsUp.gif -

Ton avis ?

How ofter autoupdater checks for new version? It still haven't alerted me.

PHcphr666 Thursday, February 25, 2010 5:52:21 PM

It depends on the version installed on your computer (7 or 3 days).
Just go to google.com, then right click on the page > Edit Preferences > Cookies, and delete "wot_versioncheck" smile

Okay, reminder popped up just a minute after I've asked the question. bigsmile

So PH what do you think about the button approach?

Barthez Friday, February 26, 2010 1:54:48 AM

I use 2google-preview-1.0.js (Google preview script) alongside with wot.js. Since this update, wot rating icons are resized to the point where they're looking awful (or at least worst the they use to wink ):

Well, I'm not sure. I'll add an option to specify if you buttons with labels or no.

In the script, change img_width and img_height to 28 (lines 174 & 175) ninja

Man thank you so much. Used this in FF and having this in Opera will be great

Guess having the rollover thing will be better. Consider changing the icons though.

And try to add the highlighting of the domain name regarding severity.

MOAR colour. I want it to make my eyes bleed so that I am forced to quite opera. Like what The phihing warning does. < Please do not take it too seriously smile

I too like the idea with the buttons, too ...

... but I can see a problem with some localizations - the texts might become too long.
Just "Update" is a little bit short, because: Update what?
The scorecard? The results page? The script?

"Check for Update" for example just barely fits when the buttons are at 50% width each (see here). Text-only is not so fine for those people who must use the non-localized English version because nobody translated the strings yet wink

I'm just playing around with some things here, eventually SVG images - if all SVG embedding problems can be solved - would be fine for people who use page zoom too ...

PHcphr666 Monday, March 8, 2010 10:00:15 PM

BTW, I like your "STOP" image smile

How about on hover It can display 'check update'. The icons don't really represent the actions too well IMO. To me it seems like 'download' and 'notepad with stanley knife'

Wow. Those are nice vectors. Illustrator? BTW. why does that bug occur?

How about http://duckduckgo.com/ (and http://dukgo.com/ alias) websearch? This websearch is really awsome. Thanks for WOT for Opera.

Please submit it to the http://extendopera.org/ so it will be easier to find out!

PHcphr666 Saturday, March 13, 2010 10:41:58 AM

This script supported duckduckgo, but it was no longer supported after a few versions.

And the script is already available on extendOpera.

Greate! Thank you. Good work. smile

I think Opera should consider adding UserJS Manager and few (good) UserJSs bundled (and some enabled, like this one) in default setup smile

@ PH

Nice job

WOT Forums get a request about "WOT for Opera?"
You should register your account.
with that, you are registered on WOT's wiki as well.

It would be nice to see an article with relevant updates / links in the official wiki.

just a thought.

peace,

g7w

[edit]

I started a simple page, it would be nice to see it expanded upon. wink

PHcphr666 Friday, May 28, 2010 10:36:27 PM

I'm not sure if it's necessary to post updates on the forum. There are already articles and posts linked to my blog. And once the script installed, there are updates smile

About the wiki, I should add a few things smile

PHcphr666 Monday, June 7, 2010 9:12:33 PM

@g7w, I wrote a few things about the script on the wiki smile

Pablo MendozaPabloMendoza Sunday, July 4, 2010 1:26:51 AM

Works fine smile

viniciusbmatos Saturday, July 31, 2010 4:27:34 PM

How about creating something like that for McAfee Site Advisor and Web Security Guard?

PHcphr666 Saturday, July 31, 2010 9:07:17 PM

I've just installed it, and it doesn't do anything on search engines.

And even if there's an API to get evaluations, I don't think McFee would agree that we call its API.
