New version of WOT, now compatible with GreaseMonkey

, , , , , , ,

Salut à tous,

Hi everyone,

I didn't touch the script for a while (despite the release of a bêta version on My Opera). So, here is the new version ! ninja

This version has a feature which is for me, quite important and can be interesting for Opera non-users.

Indeed, this version is now compatible with GreaseMonkey.

For those who don't know GreaseMonkey, it's an addon for Firefox, but also... for Safari, with GreaseKit.

I'm a linux user, so I haven't been able to test it using GreaseKit. But, from what I read, if it works with GreaseMonkey, it should work with GreaseKit bigsmile

Regarding the other news, the script now displays results on images searches of Google, Bing and Yahoo.
It also supports secured page (HTTPS) of Google. You first need to enable User Javascript on secured pages.
It also supports new websites such as Scroogle.org, Francite.com (which has a bad reputation ^_^), Listing Quebec, DuckDuckGo is back, SearchCanvas.

Well done up

BTW: I reinserted the * wildcard between #res and a.l again in my local version, it still works but I don't know if it would work in GM ...

Yay, it works on HTTPS sites now. Now I can finally kiss Google's search engine and total invasion of privacy bye-bye and use StartPage up

Tanks but... it's apparently not working on Opera 10.10 now wink

Is there a way to turn off the icons in every page?

Thanks for the long awaited update.

As usal, open the script in an editor and remove:
//@include http://*

then look for:
/* Specify if you want to check current website
false : do not check,
true=check */
check_current_site : true,
in the "Configuration part" section of the script and replace "true" with "false" like described there.

Compatibility problems with http://unite.opera.com/application/641/, as in, it does not work with the js used by the Unite app.

Can't confirm, works with the 10.62 final Build 3500 from the Opera FTP (same as the latest 10.62 snapshot, if they don't change it in the last second).

Tested with W7 and XPSP3.

@Quadunit404: I use BS-Harous Script to block external scripts, works fine with the WOT script smile

Why am I unable to see the WOT icon on any sites? I tried reinstalling the script and the little WOT icon only shows up if I'm looking at an image or search results :|

edit: (deleted the old content)
Here it works in 10.62 but not in the 10.70 build 9053 snapshot...

@PH`: The script starts in 10.70, calls the result, the container is added before the </body> but the icon is not shown despite the fact that it is there.

I did an in-page edit and added
style="z-index:2000000;"
to the
<div class="wot_container"
and then it showed but is not clickable...

edit2: It is, but the position is too far on the right side so it is invisible where to click and the info bubble is half off the screen with the above change.

edit3:
in line 1226, replace:
styles += "div[class=wot_container], div[class=wot_container] * {margin:0 !important; padding:0 !important;background: none !important; border: 0 !important;position: relative !important;float:none !important}";

by
styles += "div[class=wot_container], div[class=wot_container] * {margin:0 !important; padding:0 !important;background: none !important; border: 0 !important;position: relative !important;float:none !important;z-index:2000000;}";

and everything works again in 10.70 and does not break 10.62 smile

I've built a modified version of the WOT script, see my blog.

NicolasNickko Wednesday, December 15, 2010 1:37:12 PM

(I hope this comment makes sense in French, my French is not very good. Sorry.)

NicolasNickko Thursday, December 16, 2010 7:03:09 AM

Sorry, i have clicked on the bad link but i have think, i have clicked on the good link.

My English is very poor too, but your message in french is perfect.
