Paralegal Degree

There are many ways to channel higher education into a job protecting the nation. Criminal justice schools offer excellent learning opportunities for men and women who want to be part of the country’s force of law makers and peace keepers.

Most of the criminal justice schools, both online and in traditional settings, offer a host of degree plans that prepare the student to work in various aspects of the criminal justice system:

Criminal Justice Degree - prepares the student to work in courtrooms in various positions, including both prosecution and defense of people suspected of breaking laws. They may also seek employment in jail and prison systems, working with those convicted of crimes. Judges, lawyers, bailiffs, police officers, and many others are all part of the system of legal justice in the United States.

Homeland Security Degree - prepares the student to work in the many federal programs that fall under the jurisdiction of the US Department of Homeland Security. Some of these agencies include the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Coast Guard, Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Secret Service, and the Office of Inspector General, to name just a few.

Paralegal Degree - prepares the student to assist attorneys in collecting, collating, and analyzing data in the preparation of litigation. The paralegal may meet with clients, do background research, and is sometimes a valued member of the courtroom team.

Computer Forensics Degree - prepares the student to be part of the team of specialists that use computers to unravel mysteries and solve crimes. Like the paralegal, work for graduates holding this degree can graduate with the skills needed to work in the criminal justice system as well as in homeland security.
