Trying to save 1 million backend requests per day on MyOpera servers

OpenID delegation article

,

Here's a nice article on OpenID delegation. Might be interesting, since it's fairly easy to set up, even for personal blogs...

Why do you think I'm reading this now? :-)

Assuming you mean OpenID urls as user credentials (OpenID Consumer), I think we're going to implement first the Provider part, which is a bit more time consuming...

So, yes, maybe you will have to wait a bit :-)

I think you would read it because you find OpenId just as interesting as me

I meant consumer or provider really. Although if you MyOpera would become an OpenID provider, it would be strange not to be a consumer at the same time.

I can see why the provider part would can take some more time and thought than just becoming a consumer. After all there is more than one product to think about here. I do log in with my user name here at MyOpera, but also at link.opera.com as well as on my phone with Opera Mini, and at the same time you should be able to register at the same locations, as well as maybe new places in the future. And with more than one million users you can't just be happy with the code running on a random dev machine before going live.

But if you ever get it right, and do implement it, I sure hope Opera's Desktopteam think forward and add a new text box for OpenID in the Wand preferences. Currently I am using one of the empty slots.

Yes, I also find OpenID really interesting.
BTW, Desktop is going beyond the Wand integration.
But I'm not sure I can say more about this. :-)

ho am I to question the desktopteam p: Of course they are thinking forward. They always have and always will.

I know you can't say more, so I'll just have to wait in excitement..
