I will never buy a software again

I am editing a movie and I really like Sony Vegas and DVD Architect, I already worked with DVD Archictect and I was able to subtitle movies easily, so when I found a pack for U$86 at Sony's store for both, I decided to buy it. Before it, I searched on product pages and I wasn't able to find any specific information about subtitles, so I thought it's something really basic for a software like that, so I believed it's a standard feature and they haven't to mention about it. I bought it and I was happy about it until I tried to subtitle my first DVD. Oh gosh, I couldn't get it done, and I couldn't realize why. I've search the web and no clue, everything was saying that the only thing I had to do is right click and "add subtitle", but nothing. I googled again and ta-dã. It's only for PRO version of vegas, which cost only U$599. No way.
And what about returning the software? Well, I could, if it was not a downloadable software.
Yeeey.
And it's not just that software, it's everything. I wanted to buy a modem for my dial up connection that works on Linux, nobody knew which I should buy, so I bought the most expensive one. No luck. I bought a ADSL modem to use at home, I asked for one that works with Linux too, I got the wrong one. Back to Windows. What about buying one license? Too expensive, forget it. I had to find a cracked CD and pray for not being full of virus. I moved to a better home. No ADSL at home, back to Linux? No way, my very expensive dial up modem doesn't work. Ok, 3G internet? It will work at home? "Yes" the seller said. No, it didn't, and they didn't want to return my money.
How much more I have to spend to learn that paying doesn't mean you will get something good and people will try to help you to have a good experience with you new toy?
And now, U$86 for half of a solution.
Really, open source community can be still far to be compared to the paying solutions, but if there's a way to get it done on Open Source software, it's there that I'll invest my time.
I am enough of paying for things that just doesn't work properly, and to feel that I don't have money for the "right" solution. But, I earn much more then many people around, why I can't just be able to have a comfortable life? And I don't spend too much, I don't even have a TV at home!
How much cost to have a vegetable garden, trees of fruits, grains and things like that at home and just pay for those little things that are really necessary? Why should I pay for information to live with the minimum amount of money possible planting and gardening? Why should I pay to learn that I don't have to pay for everything, from education to health care. What the heck are happening to this world? And cool, I'm trying to create many websites with information about veganism, health, pet adoption and virtual community, I want to make it freely available, but it will cost me about U$100 per month? c'mon. I will probably find a way to have donations from the community, but yes, this is a capitalist world, but why if fresh air and water are free? Why there are not another alternative to work from 8am to 6pm and waste 2 hours and half going to and back work, well, there is, if your parents can pay for you.
Another thing that makes me angry, THERE ARE ENOUGH FOOD FOR EVERY LIVING BEING, at least in Brazil, and what happens to the food? They are all wasted! Why? Because who need them can't afford them.
Same for many other countries.
So, what's wrong with this world? Why everything seems so complicated.
I want to make nice videos, cool, how can I do them? Ah, buying a "cheap" camera for only U$499, a microphone for only U$150, have good computer and that's all. But we have a public place to make sculpture, so why the same rule can't be applied? Why can't I have a place to lend a cam corder and then return it with no charge?
I am tired of being on this system, reading Walden is at least teaching me something. From 1800's to now, nothing changed, we are still paying to government to make people slaves, and I am paying for my own prison. Can I break the rules? Don't you think it's enough of it? Ecovillage? What's the answer for my simple question?
Maybe I should stop to look to my own and face the sad world we live in. Maybe the world should stop to make everything so complicated.
Maybe I just have to try to sleep once more...
