Death note... the first thing I became interested in when i heard it from my ex-schoolmate was it's title. Death note.. Well about it can be. About death. I was right. But it was just a slight idea. The main idea was much bigger than just death.
Light Yagami is one of the main characters in this anime (or manga), who finds a Death Note one day, "accidentally" dropped by a Shinigami (God of Death) from the other world.



"The person, whose name is written in this notebook shall die.."

Light, with a strong sence of justice decide to make a better world for honest and innocent people, even if it costs someone's life. And so, with the big help of the notebook, he starts to kill all the criminals. However, the japanese police is not very satisfied with it and thats the moment when the investigation after Kira (from english "killer") begins. I'm not going to tell you the whole plot, since the investigation is getting after some time really exciting, mainly thanks to mysterious L, who after some time shows his face and reveal his true identity.
The story gets even more complicated when Light is requested by L to work on the case with him and the group of detectives (his father is the "chief").

Both of them, Light and L are truly fascinating persons, when talking about personalities, way of thinking and actions they are taking. I find L as the most interesting character in this anime. I can't say what makes him so special. Maybe it' caused by the fact he is quite different from others - his behaviour, his swerves, his way of sitting and of course his (despite all cute) appearance.

The plot also includes some biblical and emotional moments, just to mention one of them - just a while before L dies he confront on the roof with Light. It is raining. When they come inside L behaves as Light's underling, rubbing his feet. That reminded me of the woman that was a sinner and to show Jesus her love and humility, she washed his feet and rubbed them.
At that moment, Light acted like a real friend and it was soooo beautiful scene



I have just seen the last part (maybe half an hour ago) and really THANK YOU my dear ex-schoolmate for recommending me this excellent anime... The end was perfect, and even through it was sad, my heart stayed filled up with questions what is good and what is bad, but really only for a while.
You must see it to believe....

Only a genious could make up such a great idea and put it into anime world...

You were able to read something about Bleach in my recent review, but have you ever heard about ERGO PROXY? If you're interested, or in other words if the title of this next anime cought your eyes, then read...

Ergo Proxy's plot is set in artificial city under protection from outer world and is shown as a perfect one. We are in the future and the world is looking as if it is about to end. A young girl, called Real (in anime you can see various translations: Real, Lil,Rill and so on ...) is coming to this city to investigate why are robots, who were used to help people with their work and make their lives easier, suddenly so .. different. They are killing people, which is a big threat, and it's all because of some kind of virus. Real looks like someone who doesn't like this city, even through she is granddaughter of its creator. Moreover, despite her beauty, she is very strickt and unpleasant, mainly to her robot-assistent and other people surrounding her. She seems really unfriendly at first. But you get cought in the plot right at the end of the first part, when she is in her bathroom and a monster (we don't know who or what it is and where it came from) crushes in it and instead of killing her or something else you might expect it only touches her lips, as if it was in love with her. This makes Real think deeply of who it was. In her way gets poor man Vincent, who looks a bit frigtened. As the story goes by, through various exciting situations from which you wouldn't be able to abstract your attention, Real and Vincent and a small cute girl called Pino (she is a robot infected by KOGITO - virus, but really friendly) and of yourse Real's loyal robot companion land in the world outside the city. This world is wild, dark and pretty scary, but it has something in it that makes you keep on watching. They are trying to find out who is Vincent and all about his past, as he does not remember anything. Real expects that Vincent is the monster which attacted her the other day. During their journey her hypothesis become true when she sees on her own eyes like Vincent is becoming a monster when he wants to protect Real from her robot, which was infected by KOGITO... He himself finds that out by being told that by one man - totally unknown, who was also a PROXY - a monster of kinda power. Vincent is seemed to be "an emissary of death" - ERGO PROXY, after which is named whole anime.
I can't tell you the end, even through I've seen it a couple of months ago, so don't be agry if you have seen it and I've made some mistakes no no there shouldn't be any .... Also it has many other characters but I haven't got enought time to mention them al, even through they are important, too.
It was the best anime I've seen so far, it has only something more than 20 parts, and it's definitely worth seeing. So even if you have a lot of work, make some time for this truly unbelievably perfect anime. Only that title is so interesting that I had to see it...
Ohh I nearly forgot to mention how great is the beginning and ending song check it out (KIRI by MONORAL ::: Believe in me And drink the wine And take my hand And Fill me up Believe in me And drink the wine And take my hand And Let me follow...). Truly soooooo wonderful....I fell in love with it lol...
And one more thing - as I was looking through the book of art history, I found one painting, which was showing a girl in the water going to drown and it was from the play HAMLET (hope you all know it ) It was called Ophelia by John Everett Millais. As I have seen it, I have compared it to one picture from ERGO PROXY. And I was really proud of myself what I have found out, because the shot form anime from one of its parts was probably drawn according to this famous artistic work.
