john Arthur martinez - Lone Starry Night -

,

For those that missed my post on the Silver K restaunt in Johnson City, we went back to the place today with reservations this time, to hear John Athur Martinez and wound up with not just one of his CDs but with two.
Now I want everyone to pay attention to this because I am just not the type to get hyped up over an entertainer.
I am the guy that discovered Willie Nelson! Yes, About 25 years ago on a little show called Austin City Limits. I started telling all my friends about him. Come to find out, Willie had been around longer than I had been alive but that is beside the point.
So who is this handsome guy posing with my wife?

This time we were seated right in front of him and got to enjoy what seemed to be a private concert.
The tone of his voice is captivating. The songs he writes are from the heart. He can make you smile or even chuckle then turn right around and make you misty eyed.
A couple of the songs captured my heart. Home Made of Stone for one, shows his dedication to his family. And it is true. Arthur did build a new home now and had lived in a double wide with his family.
The next was If I Didn't Care written for his daughter. She is now working in New Orleans helping with the relief efforts there. It made me think of my own daughter.
Okay, maybe not just a couple. He does all of his songs justice. What Good is I Love You has got to be another favorite.

"The process began in 2003 when millions of country-music fans were first exposed to his music. john Arthur martinez finished second on the USA Network's national talent competition Nashville Star."

Okay, enough of that. A friend of mine once billed himself as the Fastest Gun in the West. He was also the secound most decorated man of World War II. When asked why he never advertized the fact, he said "No one wants to see the second best". And I don't think you are going to see the second best here either.
John Arthur is number one in my book.

You are going to find the best mix of music imaginable. Ranging from Country Swing, Blues, Ballad, and Tejano.
I hope to see everyone at Gruene Hall near New Braunfels,TX on 2/5/2008 for his next visit there.

Astronaut Jim Reilly on a tour of the Hill Country Wineries, heard john Arthur and Tejas performing the song "Making Good Time" and was so moved that he asked jAm to allow him to include the music on their next mission. The song will be played during re-entry into the earth's atmosphere as part of the crews wake-up.
