Next Steps

The recent visit by HMIe has highlighted how little I know about running a department. Fortunately, it has also shown me what I could and should be doing to make my department one of the best in the country...

This new space is going to be for me. I need to think out loud — it's how I work best — and this will be that space. If you stumble on it, remember it is mainly for me, but you are welcome to chip in ideas or thoughts that I am happy to listen to or ignore at will... My first substantive post will be about the strengths and areas to be developed as I see them, and later, as identified by HMIe. (Incidentally, what us wrong with calling areas to be developed 'weaknesses'?)

The real work starts now. Not changing is not an option... ;-)
