Going Back to Basics

Recently, I have expressed my desire to my husband to change our lifestyle. We have been bombarded with images and sounds of the entertainment industry. It has affected our physical well-being to say the least because we have stopped enjoying what nature and the outdoor space have to offer. I seldom see people going on picnics nowadays because everyone is glued on their TVs or iPods or busy clicking their mouse or keyboards to check out their family and friends on Facebook, not to mention the umpteen viral videos available on YouTube.

I admit that I am still a big fan of the teen sensation Charice and Arnel Pineda of Journey but I feel that it is time to shake off my obsession with the entertainment industry and start living life again with my husband. Although, it might need some coaxing when it comes to my husband because he's a rock n' roll junkie and a sports fanatic (hockey, football, WWF to name a few).

There I said my piece. Now, I need to put into practice. What do you think? smile

Anything and Everything about Christmas

Hmmmm...... Let's see. I'm trying to get into the Christmas spirit and here are the things that remind me that it's Christmas once again.

  1. I see Christmas decorations in stores and malls the day after Halloween
  2. I hear Christmas carols in malls and radio stations
  3. I smell the cold air of winter
  4. I see Christmas trees lined up for sale (by the way, I was out today hunting for a real one. they are quite expensive.)
  5. the scent of evergreens...balsam, pine, fir...
  6. fruit cakes (or rum cakes) line up the grocery stores
  7. Christmas parties
  8. I see reds, greens, golds, silver, and Snow? no, not yet, thank God!

By the way, my mom and I have put up my manger and a few decorations here and there, not to mention the mistletoe I hang at my front door. So, innocent visitor beware....you are about to be kissed. And oh, how can I forget the Christmas wreath. Although I have yet to buy the Christmas carol collection sang by Charice, Carrie Underwood and Miley Cirus and other artists. I am waiting for it to go on sale at WalMart ($15 plus!). I wonder if it is cheaper at BestBuy.[/COLOR]
