We found Philippines enchanting but due to the heat and heavy traffic, my boyfriend and I decided to shake off the heat and congestion in Manila and went for a week's holiday in Japan before returning to Canada. Here are some shots.

I have been living here in Canada for 19 years and have never entered or dined in a pub until I met my boyfriend last year. My cultural background as a Filipino had a lot to do with my innocence of what pubs and beers are all about. Back in my country of birth, women who are seen frequently in public places where they serve mostly alcohol are frowned upon because the establishments back home not only serve alcohol but are also known to have hospitality girls. Being a college graduate of a school run by nuns, a pub or a beer garden or club (as it is popularly called in the Philippines) was the last place I could be found.

In order to refute the nuns' and the ultra-conservatives' beliefs that it is an evil place, I would like to start a series about pubs and beers through my photos and from the occasional invitations by my boyfriend and my boyfriend's buddies to have fun with them at the pubs.

Too stressed to have a good night sleep tonight. I have been working seven days a week to finish our company's year end reporting. Hope my Happy New Year greetings is not too late.
