I have just restarted this because i haven't been doing it in a while so i have had to refresh my memory on everything i have done and want to do.
I have now got it in video mode with a few commands working here is a screenshot of it so far:
I have put in a hello world command just as a test which will recognize 'hi' or 'Hi' and return 'Hello world' to the screen.
The next thing i did was used this to produce a help command which i may make better in the future with better and more efficient results maybe based on parameters passed with the command.
The next thing i did was set up a command which cleared the screen completely it took everything off the screen and started again. It also put the OS into text mode and I didn't intend this but I left it in because I quite liked it doing it that way. At some point i will create parameters maybe to just clear the video mode screen and stay in video mode or clear into text mode.
The last thing i have done is make a command which was pretty simple which put the OS into video mode this was just a command of convenience just to make it possible.
In the future I plan on making a GUI library for some things like simple forms for the screen and a HUD for the OS itself. I will need to do things like lines and rectangles to selected text and other things.
As well as that I would also like to set up the stack and make it so it can be used easily.
After all this I will try to make some mouse interactions which I think will be the most difficult thing because I have not yet looked at any resources to help with this.
Hopefully in the future sometime i am aiming to get a text editor program inside the operating system and then maybe it will have a degree of usability and then maybe i will try and install it on a partition on a physical machine.
Hopefully the next post won't be so sporadic.
