Maggie's Meanderings

Who, What, Where, When, Why

Monday May 17 and workshopping with Sue Bradley

Sue's workshop was fantastic. She is a lecturer in Textiles/Knitting at the Bath University and conducted a really stimulating workshop on turning one's knitting into fashion garments. This was done with the help and addition of antique fabrics, laces, recycled 50's & 60's garments, recycled knittwear and basically whatever one thought would work. What a hoot!! It was all so inspirational.

We made a hat out of fabric and knitting during the workshop. Typically me, I did not get mine finished otherwise I would add a photo. After the workshop the remainder of the day was ours, so I went out and about to further explore Bath. What a great afternoon I had starting with a top lunch of devilled kidneys on rye bread. Oh I know I can hear all you offal haters groaning! Sorry i love my offal and take every opportunity to satisfy my craving. It was a French Cafe and they were delicious. Set me up nicely for an afternnon of wandering.

Found some great second hand bookshops. Just love browsing in second hand bookshops. Managed to buy a couple, thin ones that will post home relatively cheaply. Revisited the Cathedral. Just a short visit this time as I had been there before More wandering and found this fabulous street/lane callede Margaret's lane. It had the best shops in the whole of Bath. Even had a yarn shop and a quait little Swiss shop with an even quainter little Swiss cafe in the basement. Had Cream Tea in the Pump Room and toyed with the idea of going for a Spa in the Roman Bath but unfortunately had left it too late. I had made arrangements to meet Nancy for dinner at 6.30pm and time was running out.

A fun day. early to bed tonight as tomorrow promises to be a big day, out and about all day.

Sunday May 16 our first day in Bath.Wednesday May 19: Our last day, how sad!!!
