It is Time

It is time to support Marriage Equality. up

I am a straight man happily married to my wife, and I never understood what is it that same-sex couples could do to affect people like me. They deserve the same rights that I have. knight

It is time to let people find happiness regardless of sex, race, or whatever. alien We are living in the twenty-first century, but sometime it feels like we are in the dark ages. eek

I think Batman will agree with me. cool

Clive Burr 1957 - 2013

Former Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr passed away recently from M.S. sad

He played on my main four favorite Maiden albums, Iron Maiden, Killers, Maiden Japan, and The Number of the Beast. I used to play the hell-out those albums growing-up, to the point that I have to buy them all over again. Keep in mind that these were the vinyl record days. headbang

It is good to see other bands paying their respects to such a great drummer. Iron Maiden and Paul Di'anno posted on Facebook their respects as well. cry

Hurricane Sandy

, , ,

Watching the weather on TV, and hearing how epic the predictions are about this so call doomsday storm. It almost feel that this will be the storm of the century. yikes

Originally posted by Dr. Jeff Masters:

I expect Sandy's impacts along the mid-Atlantic coast and New England coasts to cost at least $2 billion in insured damage and lost business, and there is a danger the storm could cost much more. Steve Bowen, meteorologist for insurance broker AON Benfield, put it this way for me this morning: "Given the level of losses associated with Irene last year and the current projections of extended high wind, heavy rainfall, coastal surge and an inland flooding threat for many of the same areas with Sandy, it would not come as a complete surprise to see a multi-billion dollar economic loss." Sandy should bring sustained winds of 50 - 70 mph with gusts over hurricane force to a large section of coast. With most of the trees still in leaf, there will be widespread power outages due to downed trees, and the potential for a billion dollars in wind damage.

The hurricane is already hitting parts of the east coast. eek

Tomorrow is going to be interesting to see what happens. Hopefully after the wait everything will turnout to be alright. wait

Another Shocking Resignation

,

First, was Steve Jobs resignation as CEO of Apple. Now, Slashdot founder Rob Malda (Cmdr Taco) resigns. yikes

Slashdot.org "News for nerds. Stuff that matters" launched in 1997. The site is one of my daily stop for tech news. I have been reading the site since the beginning. My early attraction to the site was their Linux articles. I wasn't really using Linux in those days but the site help me take the plunge to Linux eventually.

I remember when I created my first account back in 2005, but even before that I was a regular reader.

Thanks Rob for all those years of informative news. I learned a lot from your site over the years and have been very grateful for what you put together. cheers

Steve Jobs Resigns As CEO of Apple

, ,

Earlier this month, Apple overtakes Exxon-Mobil as the world's most valuable company.

Now we heard that Steve Jobs stepped down as CEO of Apple. This feels like the end of an era for me. Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak are some of my heroes when I think about doing things creative.

Steve Jobs has always been the force behind the most wonderful, creative, user-friendly computer/technology ever. I wish him good luck in his new role at Apple. He changed the world! up

My first computer was/is a Mac 512k. Today this 1984 computer still running like it still new! headbang

I also have several other older and new Macs and Apple technology!
