About twelve hours ago I toyed with the idea of writing a satire in which the Bush-haters blame W. for the magnitude of the disaster bearing down on New Orleans. I discarded the idea on the grounds that it’s (a) not funny, and (b) not believable enough. I mean, who could really imagine that theory even from a barking moonbat?

Shows you what I know. One of the contributors at Daily Kos has already flung those feces, before Katrina lands, yet. And — here’s the funny part — the charge is already falsified by the facts on the ground.

I’m not a fan of George W. Bush. But when his opponents are this transcendently foaming-at-the-mouth idiotic, it’s hard not to wind up supporting him.

最后一段正是我有过多次的心情，中国大陆的Bush-hater也很多，其中又分若干种，最cheap的一种叫爱国青年；另外一种外面多了一层印上了字母的包装纸，叫新新闻人。

不过，别指望我支持神创论，上帝来也没用。当然，如果他当场做实验证明一下，又给我带两包方便面……

ESR提及的一个“（飓风造成的损失）所有责任都在布什”的例子是飓风登陆之前就写好的，恰好我在网上认识一个同志在N.O.，他虽然也不喜欢布什，在这件事上却没有指责布什，而是认为地方政府麻痹大意是伤亡较大的最主要原因。他说得比《经济学家》的这篇文章还要可信一点，《经济学家》这篇文章没有提及地方政府的问题，反而转述了地方政府对联邦的抱怨。甚至连布什没有在京都协议上签字这种弱智理由也写上了，作者认为这种说法虽然无稽，但是“Nonetheless, any natural disaster with a possible connection to environmental policy, however tenuous, could hurt Mr Bush politically—especially as opinion polls show that voters see the environment as being one of his weakest points”，多么stupid。

这篇文章另外一处写道“But neither the war in Iraq nor Mr Bush’s energy policy has done much to make the country less vulnerable to oil shocks.”，这个说法很有些小智慧，不过是不是可以更明确地说，伊拉克战争不是能源战争？
