Una coincidenza

, , ,

From the Crypt

I'm sorry I didn't write anything lately, but I've been very busy with my job (a lot of things happened, mostly bad things) and also, my blogging-time on mixi.jp takes A LOT of time (well, reading and writing in Japanese sure it's fun but also very tiresome)

But I'm alive (sorta)

I rummaged through old CDs and I found out some music I created with my pc when I was a super-dorky teenager (I'm still dorky, mind you... just in a more fashionable way monkey )
There are wonderful pieces in this horrible-sounding piece of work... I think that at that times I wasn't really knowing what I was doing, but some of this mess is pure genius...
how I end up becoming such a jerk?Homer: Doh!

I'll post some of this "music", starting from a tune I totally forgot. It's mainly MIDI, with a soundblaster GS Bank and a little bit of real guitar.

The end (click here for the song)

hmmm... sound technician's fault?

This morining (at work) in my daily youtube-search for japan-related stuff (yo! ear-traning is a wonderful pretest :D ) I found out this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHMKRh904_A

It was in the "most viewed" of the day but I refuse to enbed it as I hope someone at google headquarters decides to remove it.

I feel so bad for her and the band I was nearly throwing up.
ELT was one of the first japanese bands I ever heard of (in the unsuspected years when I wasn't into the language study itself.)
I was glad to ear this new song in "the man who cannot get married" dorama. I think it's a good song even if they sound so "plastic-like".

Well, how come the singer is more tone-deaf than me? It's horribile!

possible reasons:
1) she IS tone deaf
2) se had a REALLY bad day
3) the sound technician is an ASSHOLE and turned off the monitors so she couldn't hear her own voice

And I'm pretty sure she knows very well how bad she's singing because she always cuts the high notes and changes something to make it easier... :frown:

*edit: reading youtube comments, there's someone saying it's a karaoke program... I'm not sure but to me they seem the real thing

love songs

,

Sometimes I feel like my heart is hardening, like it's more and more difficult to feel the warmth of human relationships to its deepest.

Fortunately there are poets and musicians and writers of every kind, who always help us focus on what really matters.

Take love songs; usually they're just random "I love you, baby", "You're so beautiful" "the sun will shine" and things like that. But sometimes someone really sings how it is.
thank you

Ti solleverò dai dolori e dai tuoi sbalzi d'umore,
dalle ossessioni delle tue manie.

Supererò le correnti gravitazionali,
lo spazio e la luce
per non farti invecchiare.

E guarirai da tutte le malattie,
perché sei un essere speciale,
ed io, avrò cura di te.

Vagavo per i campi del Tennessee
(come vi ero arrivato, chissà).
Non hai fiori bianchi per me?
Più veloci di aquile i miei sogni
attraversano il mare.

Ti porterò soprattutto il silenzio e la pazienza.
Percorreremo assieme le vie che portano all'essenza.
I profumi d'amore inebrieranno i nostri corpi,

The cure - Franco Battiato

I'll protect you from the fears of hypocondria,
from all the worries you will meet on your path.
From injustices and from the deceits of your times,
from the defeats that you'll surely attract due to your own nature.

I'll ease your pains and your mood swings,
the obsessions of your crazes

I will defeat the gravitational fields,
the space and the light so that you won't ever grow old.

And you will recover from all the diseases,
because you are a special being,
and I, will take care of you.

Wandering through the Tennessee’s fields
(who knows how I got there?)
Don't you have white flowers for me?
Faster than an eagle my dreams crossing the sea.

I'll bring you especially silence and patience.
Together we'll run the roads that will carry us to the essence.
Our bodies will be inebriated by the fragrance of love,
and August’s breeze won't cool our senses down.

I will weave your hair like an entwined chant.
I know the laws of this world and I'll offer them to you.

I will defeat the gravitational fields,
the space and the light so that you won't ever grow old.

I will save to you from every melancholy
because you are a special being,
and I will take care of you
yes, I will take care of you.

(just changed it a bit to make it sound better)

ok, more :)

The more I listen to my own music the more I hate it.
And I'm not touching my guitar since three weeks, I fear I'm neglecting music in favour of other things.
It's too bad, I should start working on some new tunes or people will stop coming to see our shows...

Well, here's another one: Quel Riflesso Che Non Capisco

(Yes, the voice sucks... guess who's singing?

hint: has a blog on opera and loves harry potter  )

I made a cd with the seven tracks I recorded in july with my band. It's really hard to produce a cd by yourself, we took a lot of time (and money) to do it.
Probably we'll have 500 copies at the end of next week.

Here's a little instrumental song we decided to include just because we could. :D
The first arpeggio is something I wrote when I was 14 or 15, more or less. The other guitarist liked it very much so he added some parts. I think that it sounds so simple and fresh that it doesn't even need words

Days

, , , ...

sabato - domenica
I went near Pavia with my band to record a new demo. It was nearly non-stop work for two days but I'm pleased with the result; the final master will be ready in september.

The place was part of an old farm used as rehearsal rooms. A studio in the middle of rice fields.

We managed to record six songs, plus a mistery "X" song...

lunedì
day off :D
I completed the last dorama from d-addicts (Oishii Kankei). It isn't as interesting as others but I liked its warmth. It's a love story based on french food; many good actors and especially I loved the protagonist Nakayama Miho not for her beauty but for her joyful way of speaking; her japanese is very clear and I could understand many lines without reading the subtitles.

I wanted to burn some of my doramas on dvd but I got mad :furious: at Linux. It decided to destroy 3 dvds, stopping the burning process before completion. I was so angry that I suddenly repartitioned the hard-drive and reinstalled windows. It does not matter if I like Linux... It doesn't like ME!

martedì
In the morning I read a post on photography by Allan that inspired me so much I got dressed and went out to buy a digital camera.
I ended up buying a Pentax Optio E10 wich is the sort of entry-level camera suitable for a complete beginner like me
I took a funny picture of my dad in one rare moment of cheerfulness...

mercoledì
I went to the gym, a newly discovered pleasure, for my body, mind and eyes (oh yes).
Oh, I just studied my 600d kanji from Heisig's Book!
