—a Mac perspective on the Web seen through Opera Desktop™

What search engine have the better answer?

Is it Bing, Yahoo! Search, Ask.com, or Google? It’s neither one. Cuil has the better answer and even the correct URL to go along with it. I asked: better browser?

At the very top of Cuil’s result page for this phrase they list:

Opera browser
Download the Opera Web browser for a better and faster Internet experience. New browser engine We've made the fastest browser in the world even faster with superior support for Web standards. Opera 9.5 is quicker to start, faster at loading Web pages and better at running your favorite Web applications.
www.opera.com/products/desktop/

They are the only search engine to get the URL for the Opera browser right too. All other lists the front page at the company URL instead of the browser product URL.

Good one you Cuil. You might not be as cool nor popular as the other search engines, but at least you have got your browser preferences right.

OakdaleFTL: yeah, I see your point. But that search term was not part of this test. :D

uriel7ahn: This blog post was really all about which search engine have the best result page for “better browser”. Were listing Opera at the top would be considered top score!
