Talk about ‘Big Brother’ it’s alive and well with 'Apples' iPhone/iPad – iTracker. iTracking our devices?

, , ,

Toronto, CANADA – It was uncovered when Michigan State Police (MSP) had revealed that they have a gadget that allows them to download all information in under two minutes from a person’s iPhone/iPad when they pull them over for a traffic violation and ask “may I search your car” and go about searching and then download all details from their cell phone which is mysteriously, secretly stored on the iPhone/iPad for up to one year. Since you agreed to the search, they assume it is legal. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in the USA has a different view on this and have launched a vigorous investigation.
It has been reported that it stores, GPS, photos, emails, calendar, phone numbers, and many other things that you have on your phone and even though you have deleted them, they are still accessible from this device even if you have them password protected.
And the big question is why has Apple not disclosed this information and it is also reported that you do not have the ability to “opt out” of this unwanted, unknown, “Big Brother,’ private surveillance.

The MSP said “no problem” the ACLU can do an investigation and get the “freedom of information” data that they are collecting, but it would cost them over $500,000 to divulge that data.

UPDATE - There is an app (not from apple) which can/may solve this problem. It's called UNTRACKERED and you can click the link and check it out.

Sun News Network launched yesterday, labelled 'FOX News North' interesting and fresh. Review of day one.

, , ,

[/img]Toronto - The Sun News Network launched yesterday and although it is new, it has some minor problems but overall it is very fresh and clean and lot's of opinion.

In a story in the Toronto Sun newspaper on Monday they discussed the launch but they failed to mention one small detail, what channels the Sun News Network would be on across Canada. You can view all the channel listings HERE depending what service provider you have across Canada.

In the story yesterday in The Toronto Sun newspaper they did not give the viewers the service providers that would be carrying the signal.

They herald it as a Coast to Coast coverage, but seem to only go as far east as Montreal, what about the EAST coast, that is a coast too. They need to put a clock on the screen, since early in the morning most people are checking their time.
I have to give them credit for giving us a FULL screen as opposed to CP24 who scrunches it into the top left corner with all kinds of junk around the screen that no-one is interested in.

The morning show "First Look" was very lame with way too much chit-chat and although they are introducing the crew, there was very little news in the two hour show. They have to give it a rest with the weather too, it seems it is on every five minutes. The whole Network has been touted as the "Fox News North" because it gives a non-Liberal outlook on the news.

"The Source" with Ezra Levant at 5pm daily with several repeats throughout the night, will be the highlight of the new network, with lot's of opinion and he doesn't hold back with his disregard for the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC,) which we all agree with him no matter what side you're on.

Are CNN and others, milking this horrible nuclear "meltdown" situation in Japan?

, , ,

Toronto, CANADA - March 16/2011 - I'm not a huge fan of CNN, but recently with Egypt, Libya and now Japan, there is no better source for news than CNN. One of my concerns is for their reporters, why are they not moving out of Japan with all the dangers that exist because of the nuclear explosions and release of the radiation poisons into the air?

I would have been out of there a few days ago, or even better, I wouldn't have even gone there, are they insane?
Does anyone really believe that the government is being honest with the information they are releasing to their people about the radiation dangers? The nuclear plant is run by Tepco which has a very checkered past and has not always been completely honest with the people. So many questions and no answers, but CNN is doing very well trying to get the answers to these questions and many others. One thing CNN is doing which I don't like, is saying every night on the Anderson Cooper show at 10pm, "We will be on tonight for a full Live two hour show" but it turns out they just run the one hour show for two hours back to back, I'm not sure why they are lying about such a simple thing.
UPDATE - March 17/2011 - I watched Anderson Cooper last night and it appears they are listening because for the first time that I have noticed they actually had a full two hour LIVE show on Wednesday night. Are they reading my BLOG?
The reporters and the citizens of Japan are still in danger in my opinion and someone must help them all. Tonight I heard a report that the 50 workers who were still at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear power plant had left, but I find that very hard to believe. They are risking their lives by being there in the first place and if they have left who will be there to manage the shut-down before things get way out of hand?
It seems clear to me that there is still a "meltdown" in effect and someone must be there to manage this crisis and if they are not, things will only get worse.

People will be required to wear these suits and for how long, no-one knows.
Let's consider this amount of radiation exposure to the human body. No amount is acceptable, but it has been reported that a safe level is about five millisieverts per year, and on comparison if you have an X-ray, you are exposed to 0.1 sieverts. You do the math, it's dangerous and everyday the people of Japan are being exposed to this without full disclosure from the government.
What is going to happen if this radiation gets into the food chain? This cloud smoke or steam that is coming from the power plant is floating over the residents still alive from the earthquake and tsunami and now they have to deal with this. This radiation can fall on the ground and then the cows eat it and it can be ingested by humans (milk or meat) and we all know what that means. A lot of this is still unknown at this time because much of what happened in CHERNOBYL, Ukraine in 1986 was with reactors that were built 60 years ago and we know a lot more now. This two-three month old child (on the right) was rescued from the devastation yesterday and will she live trouble free until she is 40 years old?

We shall again pray for all the Japanese people tonight, and wish all the best for their future and hope that this radiation problem is not as bad as it seems. We can only hope.
To read more on the disaster check out the NEW YORK TIMES.

Barrie Pee-wee hockey team takes private jet, Quebec City to Toronto to meet scheduled playoff game.

, , ,

Click the picture above for the Journal de Quebec (or click here and then click translate for english) and then click sports for the story.

These young 12-year-old boys were forced to either forfeit their playoff game in Barrie, Ontario for their Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) or continue on in the quest to continue in the 52nd annual Quebec International Pee-wee Hockey Tournament in Quebec City.
Thanks to their team sponsor James Massie (who played in the tournament 40 years earlier) they were able to accommodate both, when Massie came forward and chartered a private jet so they could fly back and forth to Quebec City, what a class act.

The OMHA made an arbitrary decision that if they did not return for their playoff game they would have defaulted and lost their playoff berth, because they had to meet their commitments to a playoff game back in Barrie, Ontario as reported in the Toronto Star.
It appears that the OMHA has lost touch with reality and have forgotten how important it is for these young lads to attend one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world. They sit in their high office and lose sight of why they are there.
Bottom line, they won their playoff game but lost to Russia in the tournament, well done boys.

This is the way to survive in Quebec City during the winter and avoid shoveling your driveway. ---->
Some will cover their complete driveway - no shoveling. Huh ...

New vibrating police sirens on New York City cop cars have hit the streets, and now you'll know they are coming.

, , ,

People in major cities across North America hear sirens so often they are starting to ignore them. Well not any longer, as New York City has about 150 police cars equipped with the new "Rumbler" siren, which actually is a lower sounding siren but it sends out a vibrating tone.
They solve one problem, but in doing so may create another, with the vibrations it could disturb area residents even more.
It is expected the whole fleet (5000) NYC cruisers will be equipped with these new sirens within the next year.

Absolutely amazing video of Indigenous Tribe untouched by "Modern Cililization" you don't wanna miss this.

, , ,

Absolutely amazing video of Indigenous people in Northern Brazil where I'm sure they are not worried about what cell phone plan to get, with the most apps. In a special series by Jose Carlos Morales (pictured below), of Brazil's Indian Affairs department he travels through the rainforest looking for Indigenous People to prove to the government that they "DO" exist.

This is about an Indigenous Tribe in the forests of Brazil near the Puru border and the Government has said that the people do not exist because illegal loggers are trying to move in and push out anyone on the land.

It will be part of a new series by BBC and Survival International called Human Planet and not sure when or where it will be shown but it will be one I don't want to miss. The full 2-3 minute clip can be seen HERE.

Are the pro-Mubarak protesters in Cairo's Tahrir Square causing havoc, local police as some have reported?

, , ,

Things are getting worse before they get better as the pro-Mubarak supporters have tried to move into Tahrir Square in Cairo, Egypt, while the anti-Mubarak protesters are marching in the same square.
Many have widely reported that whoever is organizing these events to enter the Tahrir Square to confront the anti-Mubarak protesters is being lead by local police who have been off the job for the past eight days.

The military that is on the scene are not getting involved in any way in the conflict and in most cases are locking themselves inside their armored vehicles.
It appears no-one is moving in and separating the factions and allowing them to solve their issues amongst themselves. It is expected that if this continues there will be all kinds of injuries with the throwing of rocks at each side, if not deaths, because no-one seems to be intervening or calming the situation and just letting it happen.

Goggle builds service for Egyptians? Is this true or had they already been developing this device?

, , ,

It sounded like a great idea and really cool that Google just happened to come out with this service within a week.
I would suggest Google and others have been developing this for some time and now that everyone has got on the "texting three year plans" they can now come out with a new plan, where they can talk right into their cell phones without any keyboard, and send a text or message anywhere.
After all they are in it to make money, and could they really have developed this whole service within a week?
You can read the whole story HERE, just released today, but has probably been under development for some time. It's like the "bell bottoms" they went away for a while and kept coming back as a "new" trend. The Speak-to-tweet service is really new, or are they going to come clean and admit they have been working on it for some time?
We in CANADA are 100% in support of the people of Egypt and agree they can't take this dictatorship any longer. I just hope North Korea are watching this unfold. We shall pray again for all the people in Egypt tonight for a resolution to this terrible situation and hope it can be settled within the next few days, Do not settle down, keep the fight on and keep all protest to peaceful gatherings.

Sadly another Toronto Police officer Ryan Russell, 35, killed, by a stolen snowplow yesterday.

, , ,

[/img]TORONTO - January 13/2011 - Sergeant Ryan Russell, 35, of the Toronto Police Service (TPS) was killed early yesterday morning as he was run down by a stolen snowplow in downtown Toronto. The driver Richard Kachkar, 44, of no fixed address, has been charged with first degree murder and also faces two counts of attempted murder.[/img]

At about 5am without any shoes he jumped into a running snowplow and went on a rampage through the streets of Toronto. Two hours later he had run into several cars and hit Russell and continued on where he was stopped and fired at by several Emergency Task Force officers, and pulled from the truck and struck by three police bullets and rushed to the same hospital as the TPS Sergeant. Kachkar remains in St. Micheals Hospital under police guard.

Russell, who had just been promoted to sergeant six months earlier was an 11 year veteran of the TPS and leaves a wife and one young child.[/img]

What's the rule for Valet parking attendants giving keys to drunk drivers?

, , ,

Often I see people getting into their cars after a night on the town at some fancy convention ball, charity event and they have parked their cars with the valet attendants that are at the event.
Are there any rules or regulations for the attendants if they smell alcohol on the drivers? Do they give the KEYS to an alleged DRUNK DRIVER?

Please comment here and let us know whether you work in the industry or have information about any rules or regulations for compliance with this service. Write a comment below.
